Hi folks

I'm going to add a vocal harmoniser to my gigging set up, and I have pretty much got it down to these two products. I've read all of the reviews and listened to as many recordings as I could find of these two products, and I haven't really reached any conclusions. They both sound pretty unbelievable.

Can anybody add any comments that might help me reach a final decision?

Many thanks,

Andy

P.S. - I'm a Singer / Guitarist, with very occasional backing tracks, thinking about a Porchboard as well!!

I use the Voicelive 2 and have been a user of TC-Helicon products for years, their vocal processors are second to none in my opinion and if it's a floor based pedal that you want then I would recommend this unit unconditionally.

Sing like you mean it..........or else shut up and let someone else do it!

I use the Digitech 2 and love the results matched with the simplicity. I use only the one button to kick in the harmony. My feet have other jobs to do, and I don't like the distraction of looking down for other buttons during a song.

Respect,
Col. Andy

I use a TC Helicon Harmony G, and so does the other singer in my band. I have experimented back and forth with many settings, and... it's a challenge, to say the least, to get REALLY good sound...without feedback. Everey Sunday night we play at a small bar/thai place here in Charleston, SC. We stand in a bay window. The walls are... brick. There is a distinct boominess around the low G# on my guitar (A Godin A6 Ultra), and the same on the other instruments as well.

We also easily get a very high-pitched feedback sometimes, that stems from the Harmony G pedals.
I can not hear this frequency, but the other singer and other people say it is not fun. Since I can't figure out what note it is, it is hard to notch it out through the T1.

Wow, I am drifting off topic here, sorry.

I am right now testing the Utility-> 80Hz Highpass TomeMatch setting for the harmony pedal... this is WITH the Harmony G's built in tone button enabled...on a setting for extremely bright PA's. The compact we go through seems brighter than my L1 MII. The harmonies come out MUCH fuller with this ToneMatch setting than if I use a Mic setting. plus, since the acoustic guitars don't really go much lower than 80Hz... we cut out unnecessary rumble.

IMO, the Harmony G sounded better than the Vocalist Live, but this is ONLY my opinion. It is also smaller and handier on a crowded stage area. And no display you need to read, just some very bright LED's that are easily spotted.

I guess I should start a new thread about the Harmony G and the L1, T1 and/or Compact, but I REALLY wish TC and BOSE could work out some T1 presets for harmony pedals, as they are becoming increasingly popular.

I promised ST an eval on the wiki about this, but...I have yet to find the time to find the PERFECT settings.

I heard a rumor the other day at GC about a BOSS harmony pedal with built in looper...just a teaser! Big Grin
I have no other info about it.
