Hi there !
I have an Oktava ribbon mic. I thin it has a figure of 8 pattern - and so picks up sound from the front and the back. Do you think it might work well with the L1 for my Duo ? If we were to position it between us, so that we were either side of the mic, it should pick up both of us ? The mic could be facing side-on to the L1 (ie. at 90 degrees to the L1 speaker column - so should avoid feedback ?). Also it would be at 90 degrees to the audience so shouldn't pick up audience noise ? Perhaps the only real proof is in trying it out. Anyone tried this ? We are talking both my bandmate and myself singing and playing acoustic resonator guitars into the mic. We have an L1modII, 2x B1's and a T1 each. |

Hi Snakehips.
I haven't tried this, but I'm wondering how you were planning on splitting the signal so that each of you has individual control over EQ and effects? Also, I wonder how close you would be able to get to the microphone if the two of you are sharing it. Would you be facing one another with the microphone in the middle? I think you would want to be pretty close to the microphone in order to get reasonable gain before feedback. |

Hi ST !
Yes, I said the mic would be positioned between us ! I'd set up the mic with a good flat sound. We move closer to the mic if singing or playing a solo and pull back when doing backing. I believe that is how it was done in the early days - one mic on the stage for everyone to huddle around ? I just wondered whether it might work with the L1. |
