I have reviewed the posts on this subject but have found no help to my dilema. My equipment is as follows. Taylor 814, Shure 58, Digitech Vocalist 4, Show me the correct way to hook up to allow me to get harmonies on my vocal side and guitar on my guitar side not both on both. I am getting frustrated. I do need the V4 for my act. I do like the V4. The L1 mod 11 and T1 sound great, but I need to incorporate the V4into the mix.

I don't have a T1 but have the classic with the effects loops for input 1 and 2. I run my mic into the L1 input on 1, and the guitar to the input on 2, then use the effects loops to go out and back to the VL4.

I run the guitar into the input, on the VL4 and output on the guitar Through, then turn down the volume on the guitar portion of the VL4 to zero. this allows the guitar signal to come through the VL4 without any effects. Then, I run the vocals into the input, and back out of the left out using a Tip Ring Sleave to split mono cable on both the effects loops. I am not sure if this can be done on the T1, unless there are effects in and outs.

Hope it helps.

I don't know the VL4 at all, but from reading on the forum about it, my first approach with a T1 might be:

Mic direct to T1, Channel 1, and take the 1/4" out of Channel 1 to the Voice Live (that is a post pre-amp, pre-T1 effects 'line level' signal).

Guitar direct to T1, Channel 2, and similarly from that 1/4" out to the Voice Live (which, as I've read, is used to provide the chord structure for the vocal harmonies). As Gordy indicated, there should be a way to NOT have the guitar sound go to the VL output, but just used to define harmony.

Then, the harmony output of the VL (not guitar "through", nor vocal "through" ... just harmonies -- if that's possible) into either Channel 3 or 4 of the T1.

That would give you independent control (volume, effects, Presets) over all three components of the total sound.

Rustleo,

I use a VL2 and have zero problems. And I believe the hook up is the same.

Mic:

1. I go from the Mic into VL2 obviously using the Mic XLR cable into VL2 XLR cable "input." There's only one! Can't miss it.

2. Then I go from VL2 to T1 using another XLR cable. Basically using the "XLR out" on the VL2 into the T1 which I plug into Channel 1 - Singer/Songwriter preset.

Guitar:

1. From my guitar into VL2 Guitar "in" plug. And then I use another chord from VL2 into Channel 2 set at my Breedlove presets.

I turn down the three dials on the VL2 only using the Harmonizer.

I am not familiar with all the bells and whistles on the VL4.

But as I said, I gotta believe the hook up is the same.

Oh yeah things are good now. Its amazing all you have to do is keep at it (and hook up the cords correctly) and viola its a beautiful thing.
