Decided it was time we registered our system, so created an account only to find that UK customers could't register online at the www.bose.com site.
So headed to Bose International, and from there to the UK site. Created an account there and tried to register online. Got directed to call the 0800 free support number. Was told that head office would deal with it.
Dialled UK head office on 08707-414-500 and explained. They told me there's no need to register as they have records of serial numbers of all systems sold in the UK, and as long as I keep a note of the serial numbers they'll know who bought it, from where and when it was bought.
Neat! Serial numbers duly written in the owners guides and on a note with the purchase receipts.

As you have learnt we do not use the US registration site for UK L1 owners but instead use the serial numbers etc for any warranty issues.
However, some UK L1 owners have wanted to 'register' with someone at Bose UK and I have created a database for that purpose. If you or anyone else would like to send details of your L1s, including all serial numbers, date of purchase, your contact details etc, I'll add these to the database.
It's not compulsory but for some customers it provides an extra bit of reassurance.
