Hi jlott,
Thanks for joining us. It would be great if you could give us some more information before we get into your question about whether on L1® will do the job. We need to know at least a little more about the job. Please tell us more about your music:
Thank you. |

Hi jlott,
Thanks, that helps. About putting microphones on the Drums. That may depend on what kind of music you are doing. So, what kind of music are you doing? Who is singing? You and the Bassist? If so, the lineup through the L1® sounds like this to me. You - Vocal Microphone and Acoustic Guitar Bassist - Vocal microphone and maybe Bass or this might go through a separate amp. Drums - Maybe kick drum. So as I'm counting the inputs can you tell me what kind of Acoustic Guitar you've got and most importantly - does it have a pickup system or were you going to try to use a microphone for it? |

we play an acoustic rock..so alot of strumming
i have a "ken hodges" acoustic and it has the fishman pick up system...with the barn door pre amp so i wont use a mic for my guitar,it sounds like you have it down what we are thinking of doing |

Okay jlott,
Thanks for that info. I just checked out http://www.hodgesguitars.com/ That was fun. Thanks. What's your physical line-up from left to right as the audience sees you? You can show us using our stage layout tool. The Sketcher. Please let me know either in text or using the Sketcher (try it - it's fun) and I'll be back late this afternoon with some ideas for you. Where are you? Just trying to get a sense of times zones. I'm on the west coast just north of Seattle. |

Hi jlott00,
Thanks for using The Sketcher! -- click image to make changes to the live version -- Quoting jlott00 from The Sketcher
Great. This is probably pretty much as I would have set your stage. I might have nudged the Drums over to the right a little to get the L1® closer to the centre. But other than that we're thinking along the same lines. I didn't see that you were building a Sketch and I was doing one for you at the same time. The biggest difference was I had set you up with a Model II and a T1 ToneMatch® audio engine so you would have a few more inputs. I will think about this some more and come up with some ideas soon. |

Hi Jlott
I occasionally play with a trio much like yours, acoustic drums unmiked and no vocals, acoustic guitar and vocals and the exception Keyboard player plays left hand bass and vocals. We put the drums to the side and the keyboard/ bass and guitar in front of the T1.It works very well and the drums don't mess with the vocals making it much easier for harmonies. It also helps me (the Drummer) find my place in the mix. I tend to over play if I’m too close to the L1 . sort of like this Stage Layout This message has been edited. Last edited by: Starvin, |

Hey jlott....just wanna throw in my 2 cents on this. To paraphrase what I believe you asked: Is it possible to run a guitar, bass and 2 vocals thru a single L1 with twin b1's? Sure. You can run a whole orchestra through it. Is it logical? That's another question. I run one guitar with lead vocal thru this setup and at louder bar volumes they fight for space on the system. If I add in the vocal harmonizer, it's moreso. We run a keyboard and bass thru another L1 with FOUR b1's and if we have it cranked up, they are still fighting for space. I think that the volume you need to play at in these bars will ultimately determine your level of happiness wtth the system. Check on the trial period to make sure you can return the system if you aren't happy. Who knows? You may love it so much yhat you'll look to buy a second one. But try it out on the gig asap. JD |

Hi Jlott JD1 is dead on here. What I didn't mention is we play for that amount of people but in a restaurant not a bar. The point I was trying to make was the positioning of the drums. When using one L1 you really have to get the drums out of the road. At the very least if I was doing your gig I would have 4 b1s. Sorry if I misled you Rick |

ok....
so is it better to use a bass amp? or get more B1's? lets say i had 2 bose pas ,would you want a bass amp then? thanks for all the help so far im wondering if i had 2 bose l1's if we could run 2 vocals and an acoustic through one, and the drums through the other and the bass player use his amp? |
