I bought two systems w/bass and just sent them back. They were everything that Bose told me they were but, If you plan to be playing in tight spaces forget it these things need a place for the sound to grow.i played in a place last week and The Dimentions were less then 20'x200'. The stage was 10'x14' Ive been giging Rowdy Irish Pub Music for 20+yrs.
Wow. I'm bummed. And I don't understand how this went wrong. A stage that big should be fine so I'm really puzzled. We just put a professional quartet on a stage smaller than this and they blew the foam off the beers of customers in the audience.
Can you provide a little more detail on what went wrong?
I have to agree with Ken, unless you were on the long wall facing across the 20'diminsion, the stage size and room size should have been fine. I played twice last week in a room about 24'X 80', it was the best size room, for sound, that I have played in so far.
What about using L1 at a small studio? I would like to have minimum 2 of them with one or two bass systems, but they are way too powerfull and expensive in comparison to even the best active studio monitors!
I'm having two mics for vocals, acoustic & electric guitars, arranger keyboards and a PC (for midi etc.).
What is the smallest recommended room size? And, what dimensions and materials should be used? What a about the placement of L1's.
Why don't you guys at Bose make a smaller and more affordable system, say L1/2, for half-professionals/hoppyists like me?!
