I am a manager for a couple of regional rock bands and a bass player in another. Over the holidays I did an extensive review of the L1 system and ended up buying a new L1/Model II setup. Of course, when I'm working one-on-one for music writing and creating, I have already been blown away by the clarity and the diversity of the audio engine. And, I can see where this would be a wonderful addition for very small venues. However, our bands all have at least 5 members who are simultaneously playing instruments and performing vocals. I would like to find out a way to interface the L1 with the current band arrangements (they use large, bulky, name-brand amplifiers and PA components) so that I can show each of the groups the advantages of L1 ownership. Ideally, I would like to purchase a unit for each member or, better yet, have them purchase one; but, I don't have $15 to $20K laying around anywhere.

The other issue is that my L1 communicates fine with my computer via the USB hub; yet, I have been unable to get it to work with Cakewalk Music Creator or the USB music pack. Any thoughts out there?

Marko

One huge benefit that is easy to demonstrate is the dispersion and clarity of the L1® sound.

Put an L1® on the stage and let someone use it. Try this with the lead Vocalist or lead Guitarist. Get people in the band to take turns walking around the room comparing the L1® to the existing equipment. That's easy to do with the Vocalist, and may be a little harder with the Guitarist. For the latter, run the amp at a modest volume and put a microphone on it.

This will work best in rooms with a of capacity 300-500 people. (Venues for which the L1® was designed).

I have some other ideas that you can share with the band members here:

Is it too expensive?

You could also suggest that band members watch this series of short videos.

Playing Better with the L1® - Cliff Goodwin

I hope there is something there that you can use.

Thanks for the quick response! I took the time to review Mr. Goodwin's training sessions and I can assure you that this will be required material for all band members to look at. I also agree with letting the different members try the system. Preferably, I would have them review Mr. Goodwin's material first, then test the system, then look at Mr. Goodwin's material again.
