Well I got my L1 Model I home today and plugged it in. I used my regular setup as far as mic and guitar pre-amp (K&K). I was blown away by the sound and projection. I bought a Mackie 402 mixer for my duo partner, but I am thinking of getting the T1 today or tommorrow.

I look forward to using it this Saturday for 6-hours at a gig.

Hi Cletus McDuff,

Congratulations.

At least try the T1 ToneMatch® Audio Engine

Do you play solo too?

If so - then use the T1® for your solo setup as well (seriously, once you've tried it, it will be hard to go back).

Save your settings in a T1® Scene.

Then create another T1® Scene if you share your T1® with your duo partner.

But you might do just as well keeping the T1® for you, solo and duo.

Have your duo partner plug directly into the Model I Power Stand.

Please tell us more about your music:

  • What kind(s) of music you play?
  • Where you do it (size, type of venue)?
  • Who is there (audience) - how many, what are they doing while you are performing?
  • Do you have a web site?
  • If no web site, could you post a picture of your ensemble?

Thank you.

Thanks ST!

Yes I do play solo 40% of the time, but I'm sold on the T1, I'm heading to the Bose store in an hour to get me one!

I write/play what I call Americana. But it has the flavor od Bluegrass, country, and blues. Here's a link to my site.

http://www.myspace.com/cletusmcduff

I have several songs on it if ya care to take a listen to.

Lately I have been playing at a winery at The Lake of the Ozarks in the middle of Missouri. Great gig! Played there last year, this year and will next year. I play outside the most, but I am spreading my wings again and I am going to find other homes for me to pick at.

There are pics on my website, but none owith the L1.

Good to read about your new L1 Cletus!

I've checked out your myspace, great music.
I see you are already accustomed to the sound coming from behind you.
No doubt you will appreciate the extra cleanliness and spread that comes with the Bose system.

PS
You're not that far away.
The wife and I come that way every now and then.
As you are booked there forever, we'll probably be seeing you.
We love wineries!

I always tried to get a wall of sound like Bose...I'm totally thrilled and feel as if I understand the L1 more than I could have imagined. I'm very pleased with muy first tests!

I had a chance to really put the L1 and T1 through the paces yesterday at a gig.

I was blown away! This thing is just awesome! It’s hard to believe so much sound comes out of this thing.

I have all the controls at my fingertip, which made it so easy to dial in on the fly.

I am using one B1 and it was plenty of bass coming through the system. My Martin sounded silky and sweet, and my vox were outstanding. I could hear everything well in the mix as well.

I am totally impressed by this unit and highly recommend it!

Well since I’ve gone high-tech now with my sound, I ditched the CD player and bought me a Mp3 player that is now velcroed to my tonematch engine.

When I am done with my set and from my perch, I can now release the Mp3 music at the press of a button and slowly bring up the volume.

Outstanding Bose!

You guys have nailed it! I thank you!

Bonjour Cletus,

I really enjoyed your music. Your site is also very good looking. Enjoy your L1!

We also just came back from a gig Saturday evening; the L1 performed well and people seemed to enjoy the show, even if we were just background music during a company golf tournament dinner... Smile

Cheers,

JFd

I did my 2nd gig yesterday and the L1 was outstanding! Better then the first gig!

The owner told me afterwards, "I don't care what that cost, it's worth every penny...."

Iron Sky..thanks! I checked out your site as well, very nice music.

Wow, the music on your site is great !

Your doin a great job as a self taught recording engineer.

Your singing and playing is a lot of fun to listen to also.

The Martin sounds sweeeet, I just bought a Martin DX1. I LOVE IT. It sounds fantastic !

I got a question for ya, how are you micing the Martin on your recordings ? The capture sounds good.

Thanks Ted and Joel!

I run Pro tools 7.0 on my computer. I have 2 mics 1-MXL69 and a 1-AKG Peception 200. I run them through an ART MPA Gold tube pre-amp. I put the AKG about 12" away by the bridge favoring the soundhole, and the 2nd mic around 12-14th fret favoring the soundhole. I then blend them to get my sound. I can't say enough about my guitars, I love them!

I hope to record today, I have the week off!

Cletus
