I have a feeling that a lot of the animosity towards this new system is at least partially an image thing. People think they look "cooler" or whatever with this huge system in front or beside them & perhaps feel a little naked or exposed without it. All I know is that I have a very good pair of ears & the sound quality from the Bose is amazing. In an earlier post I mentioned that if you're standing too close you'll feed, well that isn't necessarily true either. My wife who is the lead vocalist & drummer for our band was using an Audio Technica PRO 8HEx Headset Mic (Only dynamic headset mic in the store at the time) & when we went back to Long & McQuade (Local music store in Ottawa) for the feedback destroyer, we brought the mic back with us which is in our contract with them & explained to the sales rep what was going on. They happened to have a Shure WH20XLR in stock so we tried that... Problem solved!!! It's hard to find a head worn dynamic mic for drummers/vocalists, but we CRANKED the Shure mic & were standing right on top of the Bose & no Feedback. When we got home I decided to put the mic through its paces & got Caroline to stand right next to the Bose. I set the levels in the preferences pane, cranked the system up to about 2 o'clock on both her channel & the main (Which is VERY loud) still no feedback. Then I chose compressor # 3 (The heavy setting) dropped the threshold down to -27 dB, cranked the gain up to 18 dB AND STILL NO FEEDBACK!!! So for any of you looking for head worn dynamic mics, the WH20 is a good choice. It comes in 3 flavors: the WH20XLR - This is what we bought as Caroline doesn't need wireless because she's always sitting behind the drums. WH20TQG (Mini 4 pin output) & the WH20QTR (1/4" out) I've been told that condensers are really not a good idea for drummer/vocalists, so for anyone out there who needs headset mics, this is a great choice. $79.00 US on Musician's Friend, we paid $93.00 CAD at Long & McQuade. Peace - J.

Yep! That's the one I've been using for years (Keyboardist here) and apart from it being pretty big, it's certainly the most reliable headset mic I've ever used - and just about the cheapest! I tried a Headset Condensor mic recently and it was a real heartbreaker - don't know if it's the Bose it isn't "playing nice" with or whether Condensors - like you say - just aren't a good idea for live 'n loud playing..... (I say it was a heartbreaker because it was a VERY reasonable price and SO small - almost invisible - just what I was looking for... )

I use my Tone match with my Compact and Velcro it to my Keyboard. Looking at the Compact you may be able to Velcro it to the carrying handle. I use industrial Velcro. I hope this helps. Good Lucks!
