One more thing to add to the list of things going wrong. One of our remotes started rattling today. is it okay to open it up and see what is causing the noise. Or do I need to get another one....again.

Sorry about your bad experience. I have no idea what happened there. It's okay to open the remote. First, you have to pull off all the knobs. If they are really tight, you might want to use a set of pliers, maybe with a soft cloth wrapped around to avoid scratching. I usually can pull them off by hand. There are four screws on the back side. Simply unscrew those. The screws are very small and have very thin washers on them. Make sure you don't loose any of those. Then you can pull the upper and lower housing apart. The DIN connectors are fixed with some glue, so you might have to pull a little to get them apart. If any of that is too much trouble, simply call our tech support and we'll send you a new remote. Hope that helps Hilmar

Geez, how long do ya gotta wait for a message window? Anyway, captbanjo - 'sounds like this user may have had remote issues before and may have never posted about it. It's hard to make a control pendant tough enough to survive in the field. Especially, if stowed/carted in the standard baggage. I keep mine with my mics so it won't get squashed but my friend/bandmate didn't and he needed a new one recently. Come to think of it, this might be his 2nd replacement he's asked for?

You're right ASAT. That little pouch on the PS1 bag does little to protect the remote. In fact, we've removed the pouch on newer bags. Most of us Bose musicians playing with the system store the remote in the L1 bag at the bayonet end. It makes a good place to protect the remote.

I put mine in my back pack with my cords, mics, extra strings, picks, slide, etc., etc. I stays safe and with all my other small easy to leave behind stuff. Steve

The first thing dealing with the remote was that I was shipped a version 1 long after version 2 were out. I opened up the rattle, and something must have fallen out, cause the rattle is now working as a remote, everything is fine for now. I just recieved our third system. We ordered it during the 10% off promo. I was charged the full price. And on top of that they didn't take off tax after I had faxed a tax exempt form for the school. When I called, they said, we just didn't process it. They were sitting on it for about 5 weeks! I keep hearing all these great things about the customer service, I just haven't seen them (yet).

When I had a problem with my amp section, customer service was friendly and swift. I got my replacement in 2 days! Thanks Bose Col. Andy
