My wife (a PhD in biblical studies and seminary professor) calls it the Asherah Pole.

Hi:

I'll occasionally refer to it as the "Festivus" pole (after the Seinfeld episode). Otherwise it's the L1, etc.

Well lets hope they don't start calling it the SOLOAMP!!! Check out Fishmans new product its a direct take off of the L1 idea.

Like always Bose inovates a new catagory of product, i.e. Lifestyle, NC headsets, and the rest copy and do it albeit not as well but at half the price.

Bose needs to wake up and realize they need instrument specific L1's. And by making them instrument specific the price can be lower.

Hope the monitors let my message through they usually block my product and marketing comments.

Hi blkhol,

We don't block "product and marketing comments". I think those comments are overwhelmingly well represented on this message board.

We rarely block messages for violations of our Terms of Service -- you can read these by clicking on the link at the bottom of every page. Usually, we edit out disallowed words (cuss words) and we always make a note in the post to that effect so folks reading know why a word may appear to be missing or replaced with something generic.

On the exceptionally rare occasion that we block a complete post, we almost always send the person a private email explaining why it is in violation of our terms, and usually letting them know how they can re-submit if they choose.

If there are specific cases where you feel your "product and marketing comments" were blocked, please send me a private message and I will work with you to find out what happened and why.

Ken

Ken

My error I found my other comments, didn't mean to accuse the forum of not being fair. This thing is getting harder to navigate.

The other day a guy asked me "So, do you have speakers in that stovepipe of yours?"

We refer to ours as 'The Stick' or occasionally 'The Tower'.

A couple of people at a gig asked if it was a patio heater, and we get our fair share of people likening it to the '2001 Space Odyssey' monolith.

The first time we saw an L1 on stage as we walked into a folk club we were immediately struck by the monolith-like presence, and that was before we'd even heard it.

That's funny about 2001 ("monkeys around the monolith" ). Ken Jacob and I had a few yukks dreaming up a video commercial for the L1 with this very theme. Like, monkeys in black concert t-shirts.

Hi Kevin, thanks for asking. My wife and I have a duo we call "Two of a Kind". We don't play much any more; mainly at private events. I use the Bose system mainly for my church praise team.
