I do a few small gigs each month before audiences of 30-60 at assisted living residences. For years I have just used my keyboard and a 10" powered speaker. Yesterday I set up the PAS and the difference in sound and response from the audience was remarkable.

It was just SOOOOO pleasant. Volume was minimal, yet plentiful. No complaints from anyone. The PAS provided a nice round sound for speaking, singing and playing...with only minimal fx from the keyboard settings.

Management mentioned how evenly it sounded throughout the room, which was very wide, and expressed interest in using me on a more regular basis. Two of the residents asked for cards to give to friends that live in upscale communities (not assisted living) thinking they would recommend me for their dinner-dances (which is really my bread and butter).

While it is a tad more work to set up the PAS as opposed to using a powered speaker, the benefit of more evenly distributed, well rounded sound make it well worth the extra effort.

On the larger jobs, the PAS is snap to set up compared to my conventional system, which is barely used anymore.
