As many of you know, we have concerts here in our corporate center auditorium.
Most of the acts we bring in have never played on an L1 system. Although we're clear before we book them about the new system, and always work out a Sketcher stageplot with them well in advance of the show, it's usually not until they arrive that it dawns on them what's happening. Tomorrow night we have a seasoned "jump R & B" band coming in, one that's regionally very well known and has won multiple awards. ![]() |

Today I was going through some last minute details with the band leader and I decided to tell the leader a little bit of what to expect.
I thought this might be interesting to this community.

Ken,
Thank you for sharing this very well written and useful letter. Seriously, I suggest you include some form of this in every L1 package. Also, make it required reading for joining the forum. It may cut down on the 'How do I use one L1 for everybody in my band?' questions. Or maybe not.... :-) |

Ken,
That is an excellent letter/tutorial on using the L1. I have saved it and will use it when providing sound to new bands. Many thanks, Pete |

Mitchell, Drumr, Thank you for your comments. Hmm...this seems like there may be a kernel here for going further. I'm going to leave myself a note to come back to this later in the day once it has baked in the mind-oven for a few hours. In the meantime if folks here have other suggestions for how to use/expand this subject so others can think about it, please go ahead and suggest it here. Ken |

Hi Ken,
After this has baked for a few days I would like to migrate this to the wiki. This is a really interesting introduction for a band before they hit the stage. We have a note in the wiki Introducing Performers to the L1® System that speaks to the physical introduction when the performers are actually on the stage. Chuck and Tom had some notes from Report from Detroit's Metro Music Expo that I will be adding to that wiki article in a few minutes. In the meantime...
