Hi fellow Brits,

I'm actually British but now living in Georgia here in the States. Anyway, here I was checking through the latest mails and it might be worth you checking out the DJ section.

There is info there about something called SEDA,(South East DJ Association). Even though you guys are not DJ's I think it is organized by one of the Bose U.K. reps and you could get a load of info and maybe a demo from that direction. You may have already seen this but I thought I'd point it out just in case.

All the best, Gordon.

P.S. I have one L1 with two B1s and play a lot of reggae influenced stuff using a Boss looper and I am really impressed with this gear for the types of bars and restaurants, pool parties that I mostly play. Go for it!

Hi you Guys,
Well I am now on my second week with my L1 mod II plus 2 B1's and a T1. All I can say is that it just keeps getting better and better. My act is keyboard (Yamaha Tyros 2) and vocal, mainly covers from the 50's 60's & 70's. I have just finished the 10th gig with the new setup and I am blown away by it. I found for most rooms I am only using 1 B1 and it sounds great. If anyone wants to hear the system I gig around Dorset and Hampshire, you are most welcome to come and listen. Just drop me a mail to pauljmusic@hotmail.com

Anyone want to buy a Fohhn Xperience III pa ???

Regards
Paul

Welcome, Paul J! Thanks for posting your happiness and excitement!

Side note and reminder: I get the sense that Paul's 'PA for sale' was meant in half-jest, secondary to his obvious excitement about his new rig. Still, I must remind everyone to keep the commerce offline or confined to private messages, per Terms of Service #5: "Posts regarding the sale of equipment or services of any kind are not allowed and will be removed."

All the best,

Chuck

Hello Im a Brit who lives and works in a celtic band in Portugal.
My band just bought an L1 model 1, it was delivered 2 hours ago and Ive put my acoustic guitar through it and it sounds great (chuffed neighbours) cant wait to gig with it.
The thought of not humping speakers and stands, and monitors from the van to venue every gig, has become a reality. Great for a guitar player who has a dodgy leg and is getting a bit long in the tooth for all that business.
I will write a review of our experience with the L1 after the gig next Tuesday.

Hi,
I live in Devon and I've had mine since Sept 07. I love it. It has been used so far in my covers band, (lead guitar, rhythm guitar, bass guitar, drum track and 3 vocals). We have used 2 x L1 Mod 2 and 4 B1, 2 T1 in a few gigs and are still learning, having previously used a 9Kw traditional PA.The bass player particularly complains about not being able to hear his vocal. probably something to do with the 500w Eden amp and 8x10 cab behind him !!
Used them on New Years eve and as a result received a call from the agent this week with 6 high profile gigs at the hotel for this year. That must say something about the L1.
Only problem was my T1 which gave up the ghost, but replaced by Andy Rigler, from Bose UK.
I have previously used all sorts of backline ( Marshall, Fender, Boogie) and EV PA gear. I now use a POD XTL and the L1 and will never go back.
Andy.

Hi

We're a Northumberland-based acoustic duo who both sing and both play guitars (Taylor 6 and 12-string acoustics), no bass, no drums, no keyboards, no backing tracks. We believe for the type of music and venues (anywhere from a dozen to 100 people max) we play, the Bose system will deliver exactly what we're looking for... clarity of sound for us and audience, our acoustic sound but even more so.

After trying a system in their store we've recently (5 January 2008) bought an L1 Model II, 1 B1 bass unit, 2 T1 Tonematch units, 1 additional T1 power supply and 2 mic stand adapters for the T1s from Sound Control in Newcastle.

We took home the gear they had in stock, but they said they had to order the second T1, the power supply and the mic stand adapters direct from Bose - so we're still waiting for these bits so we can properly set up and experiment with the system... but we're loving what we hear so far and can't wait to do some gigs with the new gear.

The USA seems to have a great network of L1 users, and get-together events - is there anything similar in the UK?

Hi Jimmy & Val,

I hope you get the rest of your gear soon.

I don't know what is going on in the UK with respect to L1™ users and get-together events. In the US these are "grass-roots" affairs. The impetus to do them comes from local L1™ owners. We use this message board and the wiki to help with the communications and planning. Here are the for the most recent event in Cuchara, Colorado.

I noticed that you have a real community feel to your website. Maybe you two could be the nexus of the next (first???) owners' event in the UK.

Hi all,
Just recently purchased an L1 series 11 with one bass unit and Tonematch.Tried it out in our local large church and the sound is amazing, as expected!
Now 50+ and about to restart gigging after ten years 'out' but used to perform in a pro' duo for many years, 'Twogether', with a talented singer guitarist, Liza.
We used Bose 802s, for almost all our thirteen years working. With a Studiomaster mixer/amp, a pair of AKG C535 EB mikes and top quality elctro acoustic guitars, our sound was always crystal clear and of a 'CD quality' standard ...unlike many!Smile
This gave us a huge edge in playing the venues and gigs we wanted to .. in beautiful coastal locations, where we chose to live for 'summer seasons' of about six months, before moving to the next country where the sun would be shining!
Never used monitors...simply positioned and angled the 802s to suit.
Just wish we had the L1 system then, for portability.

Now, with a restrictive hip problem and only my right ear hearing, the L1 is perfect.
..I lost my hearing suddnly and totally in the left ear, overnight, due to a viral infection, whilst working pro 12 years ago.The resulting constant tinnitus and other head noises, take some getting used to, but needs must!
So....thanks Bose for great products and many years of pleasure, which I now aim to have a few more of!Smile
