It was 365 days ago (tonight) that I saw and heard the New Bose® Personalized Amplification System™ Family of Products.

This was at a presentation of "Music is Human" and where I heard Cliff, Tony, Wolf (and forgive me for not getting the names of the horn players) playing as THE Linemen.

The following day I found my way here to the forum and posted a response to the announcement about the show...
quote:

I was there on Thursday (had the flu and very nearly didn't go).

Ended up sitting about 5 feet in front of Tony Sarno (I was in the front row). I was blown away without being blown away. If you ever get a chance to sit that close to a band running PASs you that bizarre statement will make sense.

Had a great chat with Tony and Wolf after the show.

Friday morning as soon as L&M (the store that sponsored the show) opened,
I picked up my PAS. (one bass module)

Since I'm under the weather, I took the rest of the day to get to know the unit. Good times.

Get my first chance to try it out live tonight.

Many many thanks to all the people at Bose who made the investment to travel to Canada.

I was somewhat taken aback that Bose would make so large an investment (you sent what - 10 people including the band?)... "

To all the people-at-Bose,
Thank you. A year later I am still

  • Blown away without being blown away.
  • Impressed as the Bose Live Music Technology Group (LMTG) goes above and beyond in its investments in customers.
See New Sounds Will Be Available Soon
  • Playing more, and enjoying it more than in many years before.
    See The End of Despair
  • Grateful to you for having created this New Approach to Live Music.

Happy Bose Day!

To the people here in the forums,

Happy Bose Day and Thank you too.

It is incomprehensible that a community of the curious, the committed and those that should be, onlookers, and the naysayers all gather around the L1 Cylindrical Radiator™ with awe, wonder, and occasional dismay; Talking (well, writing) about it.

But for the all-too-rare sound file, we are discussing a something that helps us to share a profound audible experience in a virtually silent medium. Amazing.

It is a strange and wonderful community. Thanks to Bose for giving it a place to grow. Thanks to you (yes you!), for all the ideas, food for thought, provocation, great information, and encouragement.

Happy Bose Day!

Wow ST, that's very cool. Happy Bose Day to you!

I psyched to call you a friend even though we've never met. I'm certain you and I could kill a few hours and frosty beverages talking about life, liberty and the pusuit of guitar tone.

Meeting so many great people and musicians is one of the best parts of my job. Just for the record, I am the luckiest guy you know. Wink

Have a great day,
Steve

Happy Bose Day ST!

You are a real gift to this community.

I was at the same performance. I'd been using a single system for over six months by then and had a second on order. Hearing the Linemen using five systems, I knew I was experiencing something historic. WOW!

That is you ST, thanks for all we have learned from you, technically and otherwise.

I'm off to do my first wedding DJ gig (taking a break from Vdrum obsession).

Happy BD!

Sounds like a good way to fund a Vdrum obsession. Smile
