I am the proud owner of 2 L1's and 4 B1's which so far have filled pretty big halls (up to 450 people) with quite some headroom.
Latest indoor gig was here with just 1 system L1 + 2x B1:
Not too many people (about 150) and great sound with good bottom end.
My question is, how would the coverage be using the 2 systems outdoors ? My ususal outdoor setup is 2 x 500w Alto's 15" + 2 x 400w JBL EON G15
Would my twin Bose setup cover an outdoor event as well as the "old" boxes do ?
Thanks for your opinions and experiences !
How big is the area you want to cover?
Here are some notes about how the L1® performs with respect to
Also - a search of the forum for
will give you lots of insights about how the L1®s perform outside.
Hi ST !
Generally, it's outdoor Country gigs (all the rage in France right now ;-)) for upto 600 or so people. They're never very far from the stage, say about 30 - 40m at most.
Thansk for the links, I'll go and check that out

An oldie but a goodie.
How Much Power
Personally, I enjoy using the Bose OUTSIDE even better than inside! I don't even consider power and statistics - just crank em up to the max and go with it - the sound will be fantastic!
Best luck, Mike
Thanks Mike ! I have family in Texas so I know the crowd can be almost as noisy as the French
So if it works for you, I'll sure give it a try !
Next outdoor gig - 7th June. Will let y'all know !
"Y'all" will be happy to hear about it!
Best luck with it Alan - Mike
Late getting back, sorry !
Finally used the 2 systems outdoors in August and September with excellent results.
Placed the L1's in "classical" way, left and right of the stage.
Have since learned from another thread here that it's better running them side by side with a mono signal.
Did that yesterday and it sure does work ! The 4 B1's stacked 2x2... amazing !
Excellent! Mighty glad it worked so well for you.
By the way Alan, you dress a LOT more like a cowboy that *I* do! :-)
