The 2 years before I bought my L1 system I was performing with a vocal trio about twice per month. We all went our separate ways about 2 months before I traded in all my old gear. <sigh> however, my wife was THRILLED at the space saved in my office and I was blown away by the clear - no monitor - stage and house sound…. But I’m unable to use it much at my other regular gig - Wed & Sundays in a church with BOAT-loads of conventional equip.
So I get out now and then for little solo things for family and friends but mostly it’s the modern art thing in my office.
At last I got to put it in front of my church for a mostly solo Sunday night service 2 weeks ago. Now in my haste I forgot a HUGELY important set-up step and didn’t put my poor old SM58 in a pre-set chan and, you guessed it, I got a little of that low-mid mud on my vocals BUT STILL it was the best sound for my guitar, synth, Banjitar, kalimba, and HPD-15 that I’ve ever had in the building. Lower pressure, no frightened seniors, people ok on the front 3 rows, people on the back who heard the entire lyric (even without the right EQ setting for the mic ).
Then at the tail end of Oct. I get the full dbl barrel blast of BOSE at our East Coast shin-dig and I’m so hyped up about this thing again I can hardly keep from going door to door with one on a cart.
Hey, I don’t want to be that guy at parties who tries to sell every guest a cemetery plot, whole-life insurance, and a set of no-stick cookware …. And yet, after Sunday night, I’ve had two people ask me to demo the product for them. One for a small church to replace their whole system and another who will be starting to do small 3-man pick-up gigs soon. On top of that, I sat down with a man who runs sound for a touring gospel trio who was complaining about hearing loss…… and you can guess what I told him all about <G>
At our Bose-over-Boston thing last week, there were stories like this going on all over the room.
I just thought I’d add mine to the list of folks (not sporting the name “Bose” on any of our W2s) who are finding themselves playing armature field sales and LOVING it.

Aah, Michael, so you have been thoroughly bitten?
Seeing the big picture, 6 systems with 6-12 players and singers going thru it is a thing of wonder is it not?
I know how you feel, the same thing happened to me at BS, it's astounding.

You really can't not promote this thing once you know its worth.

Was great to see, hear, and speak with you at the lodge.
Best to you with the spreading of the seeds.
