Something kinda cool...

I am struggling with my Taylor and it's sound.

Well, I borrowed a Looper from a friend to try it out.

Then I realized this is a cool way to check / hear your sound.

I played thru the Looper, and then let it play while I walked around my basement to check the sound...

Again, it sounded great and I think my issues with my Taylor's sound may be more that I hear it up close before the L1 can "do it's thing."

Anyway, you could also use this method to set your level and eq at the show and get a better ear for what the audience is hearing.

Hi Steve,

This sounds like a handy way to use the technology. I've sent you a note about the struggle in the Expression System discussion

I used a looping station to get mic placement on my amplifier with the L1. It allowed me to try presets and move the mic and then turn up the L1 to see if the tone from the L1 matched the sound I was hearing from my amp.

Also good for a quick soundcheck of volume at clubs.

They're fun for doing things that are almost impossible otherwise. We played a show one night and got onto a funky groove. I looped my part and pointed at my drummer so he knew to listen to my part (our bass player knew how to tap tempo if necessary) and ran into the audience and got some people in the back to stand up, dance, and sing.

There are lots of uses for these things beyond the Brian Eno thing.

We use loopers all the time here in the lab for that exact purpose. Loopers are especially helpful for instruments that have some acoustic output like a acoustic guitar or vocals. Great sanity check...
