You are going to hear a lot more about Col. Andy.

He made a bunch of us cry on the very first song he sang. I found out later it was a tune written by Willie Nelson.

He played it ultra quiet and he has a beautiful baritone voice. It was pin drop quiet in the room.

I felt the soul of the continent moving through me.

Evie Wonder helped us with photography and videography.

Her spirit was alive and shimmery throughout.

She is one of my favorite people and one of the founding members of the live music team at Bose.

These are the folks from Porchboard and again I think you're going to hear a lot more about them at the conference. They were all wonderful, glowing and open people. They brought a wonderful energy to the room.

That's Nadene (left), Dean (center, and Bill (right), all in black Porchboard golf shirts.

Their story of how the Porchboard came into existence is heartwarming and inspirational. Bill was badly injured by a drunk driver at 10AM in the morning.

As part of his recovery he decided to take his prodigious musical skills to the schools to talk and sing to children about making good choices in life, including choosing not to start abusing drugs and alcohol.

Nadene was helping him and realized that it would be much easier to get the kids focused if there was a drum to accompany Bill. She told Bill, who's a professional engineer to "go away and invent something."

Well, he did.

Then Dean Dwyer (hat, glasses, beard, between Bill and Nadene) created the design. Dean's a professional woodworker.

Bill came up and played for us and knocked us all out. Notice the hole worn in his guitar body. Whoa.

He spoke about the technical details of porchboard and demonstrated how it can be used.

We were all very impressed and mesmerized. Several Porchboards were sold on the spot.

We plan to create a video of Bill's presentation and post it on the wiki and send it to them too.

We really loved having them.

This is Mike Davis, who made his first post here just days before the conference started. Mike turned out to be a monster musician. He played and sang without pre-meditation, and with great skill, so he sounded so in the moment and spontaneous.

He also had a very beautiful guitar.

The Most Reverend BabyBlueEyes shocked us all that he could write songs and play acoustic guitar too. This was a very funny song about his daughter, her, tea, and, well, it's laxative effects...

Kensuke, who is the L1 product manager in Bose Japan.

It also turns out he's a complete Pat Metheny freak. On Pat's recent tour of Japan, Kensuke went to ALL the shows.

This is "Babs" from the Switzerland Inn. She's wonderful. She taught me a bunch of local dialect after I told her she had to slow down because I could only understand about half of what she was saying.

She hunts bobcat and deer and raises chickens and roosters. She cooks a mean bean soup.

Everybody at the Inn was incredibly friendly and low key. Everybody. I would recommend this place for a family visit to anyone. And it is very affordable.

The Right Reverend Rick Jordan.

Rick played Monday night and knocked it right out of the park. JohnNell and Pete (drumr) on trashcan and brushes provided wonderful accompaniment.

We love Rick.

TomB on Tuesday morning.

The music lasted until 4AM but funny enough no one appeared tired at breakfast. The word Mike Davis used as he strolled into the restaurant with a big smile on his face was "exhilarated".

I could not agree more.

Looks like I "stuck my neck out" in one picture and then literally in another. Looks like my neck in the Babs pic, anyway.

Ken, great, great shots. So clear and crisp. Love 'em. And you, too. My very best,

N

Thanks Nate,

Man, I will NEVER forget that rendition of Stardust you did with Tom Munch on Monday night.

Never.

I forgot to post this picture. These are the ToneMatch partner instruments Neil-at-Bose brought down to the conference.

Beauties, no?

Ovation, Takamine, Lakland.

A little dark. But interesting. This is from Saturday night. On the right some of the boys are working out tunes.

On the left, that's Chris-at-Bose with his back to the camera.

This image was found on my camera, so some sneek-a-roo, probably Cliff-at-Bose snapped it on my camera while I was talking to Chris.

I like the vibe of this one.

The great Pete Vredenburgh (drumr) warms up on Saturday.

Pete drummed his tookish off all weekend. He's such a good player and always sensitive to others.
