[originally posted by Tresnoir] Still need to find out if my wife is coming
Tres, you should really encourage your wife to come, she will have a good time. Julie has been to three of conferences now, she agrees that we should just plan vacations around them. I'm very lucky.

Still over a month out, but I bid you all the very best of a time there. I hold to a mere glimmer of possibility that it will work for me, but probably it will have to be the next time around.
Nathan,
I'm crushed.
My A-frame is available to you if saving some ching would help.
I have no doubt most, if not all, would thoroughly enjoy a set, should she be one of the featured professional acts. No pressure. Just throwing it out there. I've spoken to her dad about the possibility and he's at least open. For what it's worth.
Do it.
Ken
Invitation extended. I'll let you know. Thanks.

Carrie just reminded me that the tax man cometh, so if I could borrow Tres' pencil this morning, I need to put that to work, too.
Well, I'd be happy to lend it to you, but I already put it on Ebay! LOL

She wants to come, it's simply a matter of whether she can get the time off from work.

It looks like I'm not going to be able to make the conference and I'm just dying. I have a BIG program on Sunday night and since I'm the director I guess I should show up.
It looks like it's going to be another great conference. I agree with Nathan that if you have not been before, do all that you can to make it happen. You won't be sorry.
The real "stuff" of life has to do with relationships. Isn't it cool that something like a sound system can have such a dramatic effect on the quality of relationship between performers and the audience, members of the band, and even members of a group of L1 users.
There is no doubt that some of the nicest and most inspiring people I have ever met have been at these little meetings. Thank you, Bose, for getting it started.
Have a great time.
Blessings, Rick

Are you able to reach some of our friends from St. Louis who are not regulars here and might be interested in attending? I'm thinking of Wayne and the others.
I'll see what cards I can find and pass the information along. I'll check with JohnNell, too. I think he's going to L'il Switz, yes? He may have some contact info that I don't. I'll see if I still have my list of attendees.
EDIT:
"St. Louis" has been contacted. I still had my list, but very little contact information. I've PM-solicited John Nell and Bob Boland. I'll post when I have more, or perhaps they will. This message has been edited. Last edited by: BabyBlueEyes,
You might want to go back in the Community Events Section of the forums and read about the past conferences to get an idea. You'll find pictures and video, too.
Click the "South Atlantic Sates..." link immediately below for details on this conference.
It's not really been in existence long enough to establish a real trend, per se, but since the first conference, there have been about 2 per year. Based on that, I would say the chances of one in the fall are pretty good. However, there usually isn't much talk on it until right before, then things move very quickly. From first whiff to completed conference is about 8 weeks, it seems.
Hi, All - I've been absent from the forum in recent months but think of all y'all from Cuchara often; it was a fabulous weekend this past fall. I grew up in the south and so was thrilled to see that a conference is happening in Asheville (thanks for the heads up, Tom and Ken). The timing is not good for me, however, so I'm going to have to decline this time around; hopefully another conference will get planned for later this year and things will be a bit easier for me to work out.
As a side note, I used my L1 Classic for the first time publicly after we met in Cuchara; the first show was incredibly loud (a holiday party) so it was not a good time for me to evaluate much other than to confirm that people actually could hear us over all the noise, but the second performance in mid-December was a small, quiet gathering in the sanctuary of my church, and it was fantastic. Tom, I already mentioned to you that I installed a pickup from David Enke in my music partner's Martin D35, and using the steel string w/ piezo preset on the T1, it sounded absolutely gorgeous with the L1.
Have a blast, everyone; you'll be in my thoughts...
