This discussion would be a great place for people to talk about connecting with others on the way, coordinating rides from the airports and those kinds of things.

Hi Folks,

I'd like to gauge interest in the Edelweiss building. This is a very economical option ($50/night) and looks quite comfortable and I can imagine some pretty cool late night jams there.

You can see a little more about it here. It looks to me like the rooms are quite nice.

The reason I ask is that if we get a lot of interest we could "take it over".

Also, you might notice that there's a free air compressor included, so you can airblast yourself anytime you want.

Hi Col. Andy

Thanks for adding your name to the list on the wiki page.

To all - when you have decided (or are really close) you can add your name to the list on the wiki page. This will really help with planning.

Here's the link!

Let us know you are coming.

Still working on details but I am hoping to arrive on Saturday the 3rd so I can visit a little with people as they arrive on Sunday.

Sounds like a blast!

To anyone on the fence,

I have been to two of these conferences. They were quite different and both were more than worth what it took to be there.

Hi Roy,

Thanks for adding your name and your equipment to the Let us know you are coming page.

That's super nice of you to bring along an extra Guitar for those who can't travel with one.

I'm flying for sure. I have gigs both sides of it. I won't be able to bring as many toys.

That's really nice of you.

Yes it would be great if you would add this to the equipment list. I'm sure somebody will be glad to know.

I haven't made that reservation yet. I'd like to be in by dinnertime if possible. It's a long flight from Colorado with 2 time changes - as it will be for you from Vancouver.

Internet Access
They are having wireless internet access installed on their site on April 15th. This should cover most of the site including the Mountain View restaurant (this is the combined buildings 12 & 13 Eve-at-Bose mentioned).

And

Cell Phone
Alex assures me they have good cell phone coverage.

So it looks lovely and rustic, but no one needs to be off the grid unless they choose to be.

(Some of you may remember wandering around the high ground at Big Sur trying to get a signal).

Let's not forget Cuchara, where one very determined individual hailed to the wireless gods for coverage...

... and another took a 9 mile hike to above 10,000 feet, just to check voicemail. Smile That's Tom Munch on the right and Larry (Oldghm) on the left. Both are coming to Little Switzerland. But we're gonna hike anyway, even if there is cell coverage at base camp.

Call me old fashioned. I don't like to do business on the net. I called and requested reservations for one of these rooms. Waiting on reply.

"The hills are alive, with the sound of music"..... I'm reminded of my junior year in high school. We had a gay, American History teacher. Nice guy but a little quirky, and the year was 67-68 so a little less openness at that time.

The school chorus did the whole "Sound of Music" thing. I sang a couple of solo pieces in the program.

Two years later I'm in Louisville KY, walking down 4th street and I hear a strangely familiar voice calling, "Edelweiss!, ... Edelweiss!.

You guessed it. Mr B. ..... Driving a taxi.

See you in Lil' Switzerland

O..

Dog was recently diagnosed with diabetes. Wife has business trip to Mexico, between now and Lil' Switzerland. Learning to live with new care and feeding of dog. I will be there. They may, or may not be.

I don't know if you have a pet in your home, but in my house, once they make up their minds it is the wife and I who change ours.

See you soon.

O..
