The Lodge Brothers are a 3 to 5 piece, acoustic band.
We vary from as few as 3 of us, up to 5 players, depending on who can make the gig! Playing Old-time music, Bluegrass, Americana, Acoustic, Celtic-style for any occasion Performing in Local outdoor street festivals, private parties, small cafes, wedding receptions, etc. for audiences of 20 - 200 Show type: Background music in cafes, small stage performances, outdoor venues Using the L1® System since January 2007 Geographic location: Midwest USA - St. Louis, MO Metro area Notes about The Lodge Brothers The Lodge Brothers play a variety of music, including old-time fiddle tunes, traditional and contemporary American folk songs, and some Irish tunes as well. We are particularly fond of the "brother duet" singing style of the Louvin Brothers, and we cover a lot of their material. Despite our lack of a Scruggs-style banjo player, we do a number of standards out of the bluegrass songbook. Hey John
Great Pic. It looks like a fun gig as long as you’re not the drummer. Rick |

Hello John,
Can you please expand on your set up? How do you work in 2 T1's? I have the L1 model2 with 2 B1's and 1 T1 but we need 6 inputs. 2 rythm guitars, 1 lead guitar, 2 voice mics and a percusion cajon (spanish box). Thanks in advance. |

Hi lapiz15!
I'll be glad to answer any questions you might have about using two (2) T1 ToneMatch Audio Engines with a single L1/MII. I've included this link of our most recent gig as a sketch of our band's setup. Hopefully, you'll be able to follow it. I know it might seem a little "crazy" to have a $1,000 tied up in T1s, but the versatility of them, for our band anyway, is worth it in my book. They are very portable, flexible, easily configuable and tone enriching devices whenever we play with an additional L1/Classic, plus our L1/MII system! Plus, they work equally well whenever we play with just the single L1/MII system. When playing with the single L1/MII system, I plug one T1 into the L1/MII via the ToneMatch port (Ethernet-like connection) and plug the other T1's Main Out into the Analog input phone jack of the L1/MII Powerstand with just a standard guitar-like cable. (You'll need to purchase an external power supply for the second T1.) Adjust the Trim of the analog input jack on the L1/MII Powerstand and you're ready to go. You shouldn't have any problems doing this with all your guitars, vocals and percusion cajon, since you could have as many as 8 seperate inputs with two T1s. I utilize the Scenes function of the T1 to store all our vocal and instrument configurations, therefore, it's easy once we get to the gig to just dial-up the scenes in each T1 and go from there. Does that help? If you have specific questions, just let me know. John |

Thanks John, that works very well. I think we can invest in a 2nd T1 for now and hopefully another L1 classic or model 2. I wonder if just a classic tower would be enough to complement our Model 2. Do you ever wish you had 2 model 2's instead of the extra L1 classic?

Hi Carlos!
Honestly, I don't. But, let me clarify. The L1/Classic we use is owned by another band member, so he gets to carry it to the gigs! Performance wise, I haven't really noticed any major differences. As everyone will testify about the Model II, it seems to have a w-i-d-e-r dispersion of sound. But, when using both on the gigs where we have needed both systems, I haven't really noticed that much difference between systems. An advantage of the L1/Classic is the fact you have more inputs on the Powerstand, than the Model II. And, two of them have presets! The only disadvantage, I see, is the weight difference between carrying both systems. If you are considering another system for your band, I wouldn't hesitate considering a Model I or used Classic system. Others may have different opinions and you are welcomed to hop in here with your input! |
