Hello Makke!

Thank you for telling us about Bogey!

What kinds of instruments are used in Traditional Finnish music?

Do you have a web site or a photo you could post as an attachment.

Thank you.

With traditional Finnish music I ment walz, tango, slowfox, humppa (sort of polka). Music that is played on weddings, atleast until the older people leaves the party..

Real traditional Finnish music is played on a stringinstrument "Kantele" that has four or more strings on a box held in your lap + accordion and violin. Finnish musicians are in general quite talented both in classical as in jazz music. Lately also rockmusicans have reached success abroad, mostly in Europe and Japan.

We however just play for fun and are selflearned musicians who have a nice hobby.

Hi Makke,

Thank you for your post. I had never heard of humpppa, but I found several examples on youtube.
YouTube search results for Humppa

That was a lot of fun to explore. Lots of energy there. Thank you for the introduction to the new (to me) form of music.
