Just got done with ST's talk about the forum. It was great. He turns out to be an extremely witty and effective speaker (private note to ST: I wrote the song and it's called 'PLAY ME Stairway to Heaven'!!) He gave a great technical primer but where he was really best was bringing out the emotional side of what we do with the forum. It's fascinating to meet people like the OldGHM (great singer), Ken and Kyle and Chuck (whom I've met previously). Also, it's interesting to learn Cliff is a great musician. It's that reason alone that the L1 exists as we learned. Incredible music all around. Great stuff here! For those who couldn't attend, we'll update you. Oh yeah...food's very good too! Gotta go to next session.

Wayne

Food is good, presentations are topnotch. Quite a different vibe from Big Sur; more of a Pilgrim thing. Acoustic jam last night until about 2:30am, so only the corporate folks are really awake yet.

Sunday night's "acoustic" (read ... small groups or solos) session made me glad I hadn't signed up to do something ... lots of magical moments (extended moments!), and a tremendous gathering of talents!

However, I did end up contributing to the music Sunday night ... late in the sessions, we had some 'pickup' groupings, and I ended up demonstrating my "skills" at tapping on a Porchboard Bass to support some others -- some of the folks hadn't heard a Porchboard before, so that was my 'contribution' to the evening Wink.

OK, after eating prime rib with demi glaze and roast duck, I'm upgrading my previous rating from 'really good' to great. Great stuff at conference today...Oldghm gave a good talk and demo for mics. I've talked to lots of guys from Bose, Chris, Ken, Kyle, Cliff and others and I've come away with the overpowering impression that these guys are committed (not as in 'ought to be' but that could be argued in some cases).

Quote of the day (as best as I can recall): "They told me that what I thought wasn't what I was thinking."

Biggest thing I've come away with. Prior to this conference I was a satisfied user. Now I'm a believer.

Gotta go to the Monday night concert now.

The Monday night event was electic & energetic -- you have NEVER heard a jam session until you've heard one with a banjo player who takes solos! What great fun and great music!

I just got home.

I'm still trying to figure out exactly when my head exploded. All I know is that it did. I'm still trying to process all that has happened over the last few days.

It might have been during the tour when we saw the sideways testing room, with furniture mounted on the walls.

Or maybe when we experienced what 120,000 watts of amplifier power can do in The Bunker.

Maybe it was the experience of being inside an anechoic chamber.

Or perhaps when I saw one of the few remaining 2201 speakers.

Or when Dr. Bose independently confirmed a key part of my personal philosophy. (More on that later in another thread.)

All I can say right now is that the conference was incredible. You are all people of the finest kind, warm, welcoming, friendly and talented. I cannot thank all of you enough for the experience I had.

I need to practice a LOT more to keep up with you folks!

It's Tuesday night and I got home a couple of hours ago. After that event and then hearing Dr. Bose talk.....Wwhheeewwwwww!!! I'll post something or other tomorrow. This thing was sort of transcendental (did I spell that right?).
