Thanks

Why hasn't anyone else added to this? Am I the only guy who wants to play?

I will be attending. I'm the aforementioned compatriot of Andrew Douglas. I am greatly looking forward to this event.

Hi wcmb (Charles),

Nice to meet you. What do you play? Have we see you in any of Andrew's pictures?

I've got you on the Attendees list.

I want to play; and sing; and jam; but,
I figured if I added my songs to the list everybody would go to all the trouble to learn them the correct way, and then I would'nt be able to play along in a jam session. Smile

For reasons just too bizarre to recount here, most of the 'covers' I play, I learned first from others 'cover'ing them. I'm sure that I don't know the correct way.

Charles is the large person in the middle. I'm the small person on the left. The person who is even smaller than I am (and way more attractive than either Charles or me) is Charles's wife, Bambi.

The fourth member of the band, a drum machine we call Marvin (bonus points if you get the reference) resides in the suitcase at Charles's elbow.

Like, say, 42 bonus points?

But your stage looks so happy. I suppose the drum machine balances that out...

The more I read these posts, the more comfortable I'm becoming.

Andrew, I believe Alan has sussed the robotic reference, most cleverly, I might add.

Alan-
Great job, sir!

Hi! I play a Taylor 354ce 12 string. This usually presupposes that I play a 6 string, which I do have, (a Carvin C980T) but I'm so enamored with the Taylor that it’s pretty much all that I play. I’ve always been partial to the sound of a nice 12 string. One of the reasons for my choosing the Taylor was their amplification system. I think they’re on the right track. That and the action. Once we got the L1 tm system, the final decision was simple.

I think you may be seeing that Carvin on Ebay before too long. It will be replaced by a Taylor 314ce 6 string. This will be the end of one era and the beginning of another. So it is written…

You know as I look at that picture, I wonder if it occured to the Boyse at Bose to market a height measurement decal for the front of the towers so that the audience can more accuratly provide the authorites with descriptions of the perpatrators.

Perhaps it's just as well they dont... Big Grin

I am a new attendee at this forum. I have just ordered my system consisting of 2-L1's & 4-B1's based upon information provided by this site, and to ensure that I obtain maximum usability from the system, have just booked my attendance at the upcoming conference in October. I am a drummer in a 6 piece Classic Rock/Blues band consisting of Physicians, a Pharmaceutical rep and myself (owner of an internet Pharmacy) - hence the band name 'The Pill Pushers' in the avatar. I am trying to convince our bass player to join me, but that is yet to be determined. I will keep you posted as more information becomes available. So, count 1 and maybe 2. I have already made reservations at the Inn.

I have been a strong believer in Bose product for many years now from the home audio sales side and see this as yet another addition to the market of innovative technology. My hope is to gain as much information as possible at this conference about live performance use as well as information for voice/pa and DJ applications - the more detailed and technical, the better. I am a sponge for knowledge at this point. One area that seems to be missing from the agenda (although there is a fair amount to be seen in the specific discussion group area) pertains to percussion in general and acoustic kits in particular. If some time can be alotted to this subject in an already packed agenda, I would really appreciate the educational opportunity.

I am in the midst of setting up a company that will be renting out these systems and potentially selling them as well, as I see a great opportunity for success in my city. To that end, if there are any available resources that would aid in this effort, I, again, would be greatly appreciative.

Two thumbs up on the breadth of support on the site - but to be honest, I would have expected nothing less from a company like Bose. Bravo...and let's get going!

Hi Keith,

Welcome aboard and greetings from a coaster.

Do you know when are you arriving in Ashland?

Also: You might find this interesting Drums in the wiki.

Thanks for the welcome ST. I have yet to make flight arrangements for Ashland, as I am waiting for my bass player to confirm his attendance. I am looking to arrive in Boston for sometime Sunday morning and to likely leave Tuesday morning. Your plans?
Thanks for the link suggestion - all good info.
Good to see I'm not the only Canuk present.

I am very happy to report that Guy Balbaert, the head of our European business, will be attending.

Guy is also an accomplished professional musician (composer, guitarist, blues harp).
