Hi,

I am a new owner of the Bose L1 speaker system. I brought the speaker last Christmas. My wife and I are enjoy it eveyday. My wife is so happy about this new speaker because it was replaces my previous big PA speakers. She deeply fell in love with the Bose L1 that she decided to use it for our Christmas tree last holiday. Our friends and families love it too when they came over for Christmas dinner. They sound fantastic.

I took this picture with my Fuji S3 Finepix. Shot at f/5.6 1/4s at ISO 1600. I converted to B&W to have the classic look. System consists of Bose L1 + B1 sub. We wraped the subwoofer with Christmas paper and stack one of my Denon DNS-3000 digital CD player on subwoofer.

We hope you enjoy it as we do. Thanks.

Sincerely,

Kevin & Jane

It was a nice choice going to black and white.

Thank you for sharing the picture.

Great minds think alike.
I was decorating a pair of L1's used for DJ work over Christmas as well. It just seemed like the natural thing to do.

Hi Bose guy:

Nice picture. I just wonder what preset are you using? I used preset 00 for my Denon DNS-3000. Do you get better sound with two Bose L1?

I always use Preset "00" for recorded music. (Untel I hear that Preset 58 is available, that is.)
I have done several dances with a single L1 2xB1 set up, and it fills a hall with great sound. However, two add virtually a third dimension to the sound image.
Quite literally, two L1 (4xB1's) systems sound MORE than twice as good as a single L1. I keep them no further apart than the ends of a six to eight foot table with the 4 B1's in a 2 x 2 stack under the table (which is usually draped).
I have had dozens of people tell me they have NEVER heard a DJ setup sound better than this. In fact I always ask the servers and bartending staff what they think of the sound (they hear all kinds as they come through the hall). I have not heard anything but rave reviews from any of them.
As a DJ, it empowers me to know that no one sounds better than I do. That leaves me to work on the musical selection and visual presentation.
I see you put a star on top of yours (very fitting for this speaker, don't you think?). I put a couple of Santa hats with blinking LED's on mine.

I am a part time sound technician. On the weekend, I normally go setup sound and mix for a local band. There is plan to use my Bose L1 as a monitor system. I am thinking to buy another Bose L1 in which give me 2 L1 + 2 B1 to use it as the monitor system. For front of the house, my band is still prefer the EAW setup but I really enjoy the Bose setup. It is very easy to transport, setup and sound great.

For DJ work, I only use it at home. I have the Pioneer CDJ-1000 along with the Pioneer 500 series mixer. I also owe the Denon DNS-3000 + my Ketron midjay. I will try out the Preset 58 as you mention it.

Thanks,

Kevin

Actually, the #58 Preset does not exist yet. Bose is working on one that will enhance the bass end to tweak the 'thump' that dancers want. It is not ready yet, they say, so we have to be patient.
I have used my L1's for monitoring as well. You can use them in a side-fill configuration, or behind the vocalists as well (in addition to your FOH system). Once the group gets used to hearing the sound from behind them, they'll never go back to floor wedges again. It's way more natural sounding, plus they can move around a lot more.

OK, this is my first attempt at posing a picture here. Just wanted you to see our Christmas Bose also with ideas borrowed from other posters. How do you like the cool wallpaper and the expensive keyboard?

Andy,

Nice shoot of your Bose speaker. Are you a keyboard player? I had hookup my Yamaha Tyros 2 or my PSR-3000 on preset 00 and it sound very nice.

Bose Guy: Do you get feedback when you use the Bose L1 system as monitor> Most of time, the stage I work with is only about 3 to 4 feet deep and that is where I place the Bose L1.

Thanks Coca. No I am a singer/guitar strummer and just keep that toy keyboard next to me when I'm trying to work things out (right hand only). Sometimes it helps me to see things if they are in black and white.
Respect
