I know that Alan is still around because I see him all the time in the list of people Online Now (bottom of the main message board page).

It was good to get a message from him yesterday. He and Mary Anne are still around. Some of us have been lucky enough to have heard them perform live (Big Sur and Ashland). I even got to play a couple of tunes with Alan in Ashland. Super cool.

Anyway, if you want to hear him check this out.

Yo-Yo Ma & Alan Steinberger

Alan's collaboration is moving up the ranks (follow the link and you'll see what I mean).

I played this for a friend who was so moved, she openly wept.

Good to hear from you Alan - and to all who are reading this...

2:31 minutes you won't regret.

Very nice arrangement on the Yo-Yo Ma collaboration Alan! (Which chords were the "adult" ones?) Smile

Everyone else: it is worth the listen - check it out!

Thanks for the very kind words, guys.

Mark, the 2nd bridge is mostly what I was referring to, starting on Ab/Gb to DbMA7/F to something like an A13(#9b9b5)/E to an Eb7(KS) (as in "kitchen sink"). The sort of chords that would get me fired straight-away from a rock and roll session...

Any and all votes are much appreciated!

- Alan

Hi Alan,

Listened to your, and several other's contributions. Kept coming back to yours to check and see if the others were listening to the same piece you played with. In my mind you captured and enhanced the essence of the original piece as no other did.

I am reminded of your original piece you played for us in Ashland, not that the two are similar musically, but I feel the power in both.

Thanks,
O..

I thought so - it sounded like you were getting a bit rambunctious in that spot.

Oldghm, Rick and Tom (from a private thread):

I could receive no greater praise than from you three, who all project such depth and sincerity from every pore.

If I can on occasion come close to touching an audience the way you do, my job is complete.

Thank you so much.

Alan
