Is there going to be a L1 conference in the USA anytime in 2009? If so, where and when and where do I find notifications and details?

My partner will be working in San Diego for the next 12 months, while I cant get a work permit so I will only be there for a short holiday some time during the year. Ive never been to the USA and my prefered iterinery would include the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone National Park and an L1 conference.

Cheers

Hi valvenerd,
I am not aware of any upcoming conferences in the USA. These have been initiated and organized by owners and we "at-Bose" folks are honored to be invited and participate.

That said, I am a Market Rep for the L1 in the Western USA and I have driven this area extensively. I would love to offer some recommendations for places to visit while you are here, especially if you plan on driving to Yellowstone from San Diego. I'll PM you.

Listening...There are no direct plans right now but I'd love to hear ideas from the community regarding potential locations.

No guarantees but you never know what can happen if we get a large enough group to rally around a location.

We will be in California from March through May, so if it is during those months, I am game...count me in.

We will be in the USA for a month or so (probably August), and would love to be able to hook up for a conference/meet... so, how's about it? Any thoughts, plans, or ideas for a 2009 getaway?

So far, we have definite plans to be in El Cajon CA (Taylor Guitars), Tacoma WA (visiting friends), possibly spending some time in MA and/or FL.

I think we should consider having a repeat of the Ashland conference. The benefits of having it "at Bose" were, to me, a HUGE highlight. Hearing Dr Bose speak, touring the facility (you guys gotta see the "bunker" where they test the acoustic wave cannons) and having all of the at-bose staff be right there for us to meet, many of whom may otherwise not be able to attend. Perhaps even guest appearances from some of the original team members like Hilmar and Kyle. It's a little sad that many of the newer members on the forum don't know who these guys are, when they played such pivotal roles in the development and introduction of the L1.

I know it may seem redundant, but I attended the first one, and I could easily go through the same itinerary all over again and enjoy every minute. Just a thought.

Hey, I like this thread! Somewhere on the West Coast might well be doable for our band, with enough notice, and not in March (with St. Pat's and lots of Celtic events, we'll be a bit tuckered).

How about Moab, Utah? Probably not enough of a Bose community, but would be a fun place to enjoy the scenery as well as the conference.

I keep looking for conference rumblings. I'm still living of the Cuchara high.

I would find the end of May a perfect time in California, but we will also be in Denver after that...for part of June. Then Chicago before the Detroit area in July. Anywhere close to these cities and I will be there.

Whatever I can do to help...

Wow, the last time I was in Moab... they had the worst Pizza Hut in the country <G> - ok it was 1978 , I'm sure it's under new mgt.

I can only add Ashland was amazing, and that I'm still kicking myself for not making it to S.Atlantic.

Good luck folks! Hope something takes shape in time to allow folks from outside the U.S. to plan for it.

I have and extra bedroom and a couch. We have a dock and you can go fishing. I have room for Mike's camper and I have two L1's. Just let me know a day or two in advance when all of you are coming. Roy

I don't want to bias or skew the location decision, but if we have it at Roy's, I promise not to do any songs referring to cannibalism or frozen toilets... Big Grin

unless I can't think of anything else... Razz

Hi Tres,

Good to see you on the board again.

I see your name, every time I put on my Yari Guitar, written down on the guitar strap you gave me coming back from Little Switzerland.

I appreciate it as it has a very good fit.

Thanks again
