Hi ST!

I don't think so. We'll be playing in a circle where we can hear each other, in my living room.

I'd like to have each mic on a separate track in the recording software, but I only currently have the M-Audio 2 Channel interface. I need to look into interfaces that would let me do that by coming out of the T1 channels to the interface, then either a Firewire or USB interface to the computer. If you have any ideas, I'm open for suggestions.

I'm going to PM Drumr, because I saw him using something when he was recording BBE, but if you have experience with anything, please let me know. I'm totally new to doing any kind of advanced recording, so any suggestions are welcome!

Thanks...John

Hi John,

Drumr's your guy for advice here.

I'm only recording for personal rehearsal so I just need two inputs (vocal and guitar). I am very happy with the way it works straight into Audacity running on one of my Tablet PCs.

Hi ST,

John and I talked this stuff out on the phone last night. Too much to say to have to type it all out. I hope our conversation was helpful to you John.

Pete -

VERY helpful! With your advice about having the Alesis mixer "off or disconnected", I was able to load the driver and firmware updates finally. It worked!

But, I went ahead and took your advice regarding the Presonus Project. I've got one coming this week. We'll see if I can make it work, too.

We'll see if next week's session is productive or not. Thanks again for everything! John

Hi Pete,

If you ever wanted to do a little video clip about this, I'm sure we could get that into the wiki.

Hi ST!
How have you been?

Not another version, just a "revised" version from the original. Dropping the iPod and changing to a laptop for the USB interface on pre/post show music. Also, decided to use just two systems to reduce effort in setup/teardown/coordination of equipment. If you're interested in what a "Wings of Spring" event is, just check it out here.

I'm thinking of helping the USA economy out a little this Spring prior to the event, and purchasing another L1/MII system. This event will be it's maiden voyage!

********************
Working notes on Gig Setup
1. Feedback problems from fiddle mic and Wayne's SM81 mic. Set -6dB switch on SM81 (middle) and reduced Trim level. Set Gate function to "mute" Wayne's mics in-between songs.
2. Wind picked up (gusts to 25mph) and had mic rumble in Michael's SM81. Never resolved.
3. Muted fiddle mic whenever not in use, to reduce feedback issues. Seemed to help w/feedback.
4. Had Master volumes on T1s between 1 & 2 o'clock. (loud) Setup was approx. 8-9ft in front of L1.
5. Tent was 40'x100', approx. 80-100 people at any one time
6. Reduced lows by -9dB on Michael's guitar. Was way too bassy/boomy today.

Need more distance between us and the L1 next time. Also, try spreading out more on frontline. Employ Gate function on all mics. Work on 45 degree angles for mics. Try adding extra windscreens on SM81s. Verify TM presets when time permits. SM81s= 50Hz-5kHz Bandpass
