Hi flatiron,
Thanks for using The Sketcher! Here is your Sketch. -- click image to make changes to the live version -- Legend: L1® Model I/Classic Orange numbers are Systems and Inputs using those Systems. Blue ringed numbers are Channel connections to/from the Classic and Model I Systems. Green numbers are for general notes about the Sketch and connections to non-Bose gear. There were no notes with this Sketch. It looks like you have a plan here. Is this something you are doing now? Is there anything we can do to help? Please tell us more about your music:
Thank you. |

<<There were no notes with this Sketch.>>
Sorry ST I don't know what I am doing with the Sketcher I suppose. <<It looks like you have a plan here. Is this something you are doing now? Is there anything we can do to help?>> No this plan is what I am thinking what we will have to do to make our systems work. I play in a 6 piece Bluegrass band. We have two L1's and two bass modules. We have been trying to use two AT-4033 condenser mics and use a modified version of the traditional BG one mic set up except we use the two mics so we don't have to crowd so close. After researching the Bose Forums and getting help earlier on the Forum I learned to do this we needed to put the L1's well forward of the mics and tilt them a little outward. And also to tilt the mics inward so as to get the least amount of feedback. Well we used this setup all summer for numerous gigs and we just come to the conclusion with out last gig last Sat that it just won't work. The feedback is problematic and I just cannot get enough volume before it feedsback. But I still want to use the two Bose systems because it is still so much easier than using my old PA system which I still have. I have fooled with it all summer. I tried almost every setting. I tried differnt placements for the mics and L1's to no avail. So now I am thinking to keep using the Bose we need to go back to out old Shure SM-58's and 57's. It is going to be a pain hooking up 8 mics every show that we need to supply the sound but I don't see any way out of it. So I guess I need to know how to hook the two L1's together and plug in a mixer to accomodate all the inputs we are going to need. But I want to ask you I have these adapters that you can plug into a 1/4" jack that has a 1/4" male jack on one end and an XLR plug on the other. So if I use those I might not need a mixer if those will work. Or maybe you know a better way??? Anyways to answer your other questions... <<Please tell us more about your music:>> <<What kind(s) of music you play?>> We play mainly bluegrass music unplugged into mics no one has a pick up installed except for the upright bass <<Where you do it (size, type of venue)?>> Basically everywhere but no bars. Most of our audiences are pretty small to medium unless we play a festival and then they usually supply sound. We do a lot of church picnics outside, churches inside, medium size auditoreums, private parties inside and out. Farmer's Markets that kind of stuff. <<Who is there (audience) - how many, what are they doing while you are performing?>> Normally there is between 50-100 people, sometimes more sometimes less but usually around there. <<Do you have a web site?>> Yes www.mypace.come/acousticrailroadband <<If no web site, could you post a picture of your ensemble?>> This is pretty much how we stand when we play.
