Hi tadman,
Thanks for using The Sketcher! This is just a quick note to send you a link to your Sketch in case you want to review it, edit it, or share it with others. -- click image to make changes to the live version -- Legend L1® Model I L1® Model II T1 ToneMatch® audio engine Orange numbers are Systems and Inputs using those Systems. Blue ringed numbers are Channel connections to/from the Classic and Model I Systems. Blue filled numbers are Channel connections to/from the T1 ToneMatch® audio engine. Green numbers are for general notes about the Sketch and connections to non-Bose gear. Quoting tadman from The Sketcher

I should add, re above post, that:
--drum set is Roland TD20 --sampler is Roland SPD-S --Guitar player uses Les Paul (electric) for the most part; --Historically, we've used Shure personal in-ear monitors (personal monitoring; listening to click track); -Trying to figure out best way to use Tonematch (have two--but concerned to avoid wiring complexity if need to use external (non Tonematch) mixer to make click track work for both of us). -Drums are sometimes on 1-foot high riser at clubs we play at (with no room for anything but the drums--so would likely need to put LI, MII on floor to one side. |

Hi tadman,
re:
With the L1's, the guitarist can adjust their "relative volume" by how close they are to "their" L1. Since, as shown, that person is also the vocalist, there may be a tradeoff (limit) as to how close they can stand to the L1 without introducing feedback. ... in addition to possible vocal mic feedback, another potential feedback loop may come from the guitars' pickup -- particularly if the acoustic guitar has an internal mic and the B1's are too close. Let us know how things evolve... |

Thanks, Dan.
Do you or other members have any thoughts on how we'd work in a click track using the L1s? We have the track panned left in our backing recording, with other parts of recording panned right. We used in ear monitors and a Machie CFX12, MK II, mixer in previous gigs. Not sure how to make the transition, as this click is a key part of several of our pieces. Essentially, at present, understand we'd need to figure out the connections using the two tonematches, and the separate mackie mixer. (Seems to make things more, rather than less, complicated at first blush.) Any thoughts welcome. Looked at many of the posts on click tracks, and did not see any that directly explained how to address this issue/need in a similar set up. Peace, Tadman |

Hi, again, Tadman:
I've never used a click track or in-ear monitors. Having said that: You don't show a "source" for your backing and click tracks ... but that is probably irrelevant as far as how to "hook them up". I might suggest that you use only one in-ear monitor for the click track, using the other ear to listen to the "live" sound. The primary purpose for the mixer, then is to distribute the click to the in-ear devices -- and (perhaps) the backing track to one L1. Connect your 'source' as you were before, except "pan" the click track hard to the side (e.g.: Left) for the "ear" you are using. The other channel, with the backing sounds, would be hard panned to the opposite side (e.g.: Right), and then that output connected either to one of the T1's Channel 4 -- or directly to the analog input on one of the L1's. I'd probably choose the drummer's L1 for the backing track. |
