Hi there,

I am going to be purchasing a Bose PA system for upcoming gigs and really need some advice on which one to buy. It needs to be suitable to iclude 1 singer, pianist, guitarist with the option of including a couple of violinists. The concerts will be for between 100 and 500 people - usually in church venues. My priority is quality of vocal sound as my music is classically influenced. My music featured in the video section of my website will give you a good indication of the type of music I sing - www.mariettedavina.com. I welcome all advice! Thx M

We switched from a traditional PA and AMP setup to the BOSE L1 systems 2 yrs ago and not turning back.
Very clean straight forward setup.
All mics and instrument/processor signals are fed into main mixer and Pan'd accordingly.
Mixer Output Right & Left to L1 Model 2 systems
Lots of headroom in the two BOSE Systems to handle small to medium clubs.
Everyone on stage hears themselves perfectly.

2. Guitar

5. Bass
6. Vocal
7. Guitar
8. Guitar Synth
9. Bass Drum Mic
10. Mixer

We are a Cover Band playing clubs(Rock, Pop, Disco, Funk, Country, R&B, Heavy Rock etc)
We're also play Contemporary Christian music as well(Church and Similar Venues)
We also use a duplicate setup in our rehersal studio.

Our audience(Patrons, Club Owners, other Musicians) are generally blown away by our sound and setup. this is also compounded heavily by our performance.
Comments are :
Where are the PA and AMPS?
Where's the sound coming from?
What are those tall black things in the back corners?
Where did all the equipment go that you guys loaded in?
Your sound is so clean, can we re-book you now?

Anyway, this is hobby for us and we only play out once a month...and we wouldn't do it without the BOSE L1 Systems.

Puzzle three-piece band with three vocalists. Bass, guitar and drums/keyboards. We have two L1s and four B1s, 1 Tone-Match mixer. We would like to route everything into the two L1s, probably keeping the guitar mostly in the left, the bass mostly in the right, and drums, keyboards and vocals into both units.

Hi,

Maybe you can forward some much needed advice. We have been hired to record and run FOH for a Senior Recital at a local university. The graduating senior is performing on the grand piano with vocals and has included 3 back-up vocals, electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic drums, string quartet, 8 horns and is providing 2- L1 model I for sound if we can utilize them.

Since this needs to be recorded we are bringing an iMac, Presonus preamps, a splitter snake (so we can send direct to recording equipment and whatever FOH needs to a 16 channel Carvin mixer), a plethora of mics, stands and cables, (and maybe 2 JBL125's and a couple of stage monitors).

This is taking place in a very LIVE "recital" hall at the university. So, my question is should we try to utilize the Bose L1's as FOH mains off the mixer (and as stage monitors for the performers) or should we just bring out 2 JBL125's and 2 wedge monitors? If we do use the L1 model I's as mains, what is the best way to connect them to the Carvin Concert Series C1648?

I've used L1 model I's with a local rock band and loved them, but never tried to integrate them with a tradional mixer.

Thank you for your help.
