Wondering if this would work for a trio in a setting where things need to be loud.
I'm thinking of using our L1M1 as a monitor and to handle the bass; two L1M2s at the sides to handle everything else.

Basically, put two L1M2s on the sides, at high volume. Left handles mandolin (1) and vocal mics 2 & 3. Right handles guitar (7) and vocal mic 6. Bass uses her own amp, boosted by direct line out to center L1M1. Master (or aux) outs from the left and right T1s feed the line inputs of the L1M1.

Would this result in phase cancellation or other problems? We've been using the 1-L1-per-musician approach, but are trying to avoid feedback and too-loud-on-stage problems in some high volume/shallow stage settings.

Hi Curtis Dickman,

Here is a quick look at how you could set your stage with the L1® System. There is a lot of detail in the Sketch, and I had to do that so I could count all the inputs and make sure we had enough inputs.

In summary, we have five L1® Systems. Details below the Sketch.

Keyboards, Vocal, Bass
Vocal and Electric Guitar
Vocal and Drums
Vocal , Vocal , Electric Guitar, Saxophone
Trumpet, Electric Guitar, Trombone

How does that look to you so far Curtis?

I can get in to the details, but I was hoping to get your first impressions and answer any questions.

I want to determine how many L1 systems, model 2, we will need for my band., and how to configure the system

We want to use the system instead of a PA and stage monitors.

We want to input the keyboard, 5 or 6 vocal mikes and 3 mikes for the horn section.

We would like to configure it so that all of the inputs are heard through all of the L1 systems.

The guitars will just play through their amps. The drums may need to be miked and mixed through a separate board.

2- using an SM 57 on mandolin
3- direct in from guitar through preamp into PS 1
4- direct in using fishman preamp
5- multi intrumentalist will switch from guitar to banjo or dobro
6- we are traveling for a gig and the venue has 4 PS 1 with bass modules. We have little experience (although we have used a single PS 1 fed in addition to a standard FOH pa head and speakers) with the PS 1. Can we use our condenser mics w/o feedback? The 3 we use are a Shure BG 5, KSM 27 and KSM 44.

We do have an 8 channel yamaha amp that has 2 main output 1/4" jacks. Could we plug into that with our gear and mics and send the main line output to 2 or all 4 of the ps 1 towers?

Thanks for the advice!

I want to use the bose system as a PA. All five mics plus the keyboard and acoustic guitar will be put through a kixer and then out to the two L-1's.
Is this a good setup? Do I need a mixer or can I just run some mic into one and some mics into another? My mind is still stuck on a conventional PA set up with a mixer sending the same signal to each side for balance. Perhaps I don't need to send the same signal to each unit since the system spreads out the sound so well. What suggestions do you have? I want to get away from the conventional heavy, bulky PA system.

Notes from YazSamat
The drums have a bass drum mic and 2 additional mics. when clubbing. For weddings only a mic on the bass drum. Number 2 is my electric guitar & pedals, acoustic guitar through the PA and my vocal mic.

I'm hoping that someone can help me if this system is right for my band and how do I configure it? I'm new to the forum, so hear goes. I have a 5 piece wedding/ club band (Female vocals, Keyboard/ sax, Bass/ Vocals, Guitar/ Vocals, Drums/ Vocals.) Our venue size is approx 200 people. We play NY & NJ. We're looking at PA systems. Tired of Cerwin Vega 61 pounders, heavy racks, & monitors. Our drummer is loud. How many L1's do I need? Can I use a 12 channel mixer to 2 L1's and get a good sound? How do I configure the system? Please help. Our current set up is:

5 Vocal mic's
Keyboard goes through the PA
Acoustic Guitar (Ovation) into PA
Bass into a 500w Peavy Amp
Guitar into a Mesa Boogie MarkIIb combo
Sax into PA Mic
Drums (DW) acoustic

We want to keep the bass amp and mesa boogie. Will the system cut it? Thanks, Yaz

System 1: Yaz Vocal and Guitars
  • Channel 1: Vocal Microphone
  • Channel 2: Microphone on Boogie Mark II
  • Channel 3: Ovation Guitar

System 2: Vocals and Drums
  • Channel 1: Vocal Microphone

  • Channel 3: Kick Drum
  • Channel 4: Mini Mixer with overhead microphones (optional)

My question is: If left keyboardist lead vocal - should his L1 be in the middle of the band? (vocal in center?)

Our equipment:
Mics:
Shure Beta 58a - 3x
Shure Beta 87a - 2x

Guitar - Fender Stratocaster + Line6 X3
Bass guitar - Worvick thumb bass
Drums - Roland V-drum + TD 12
Keys - Korg Pa2xpro, Korg Triton Extreme,
Korg Triton TR, Yamaha Tyros 2

We play pop, rock, country, polka and wedding songs like ballads !
We are from Croatia.
Yes, we have web site: www.oaza-band.com

In this moment, in our country - Croatia, we are only wedding band who have full Bose system and who play wedding with large Bose systems ! In the near future, I will send you our promotional video clips and we will promote Bose systems in our country !

We bought Bose systems L1 because Bose is fantastic equipment and we want to provide our audience and our clients as possible as better sound and quality our music.

Bose is the best !

Best regards !

P.S.
I tried registered my Bose on your site but I could not because in your fill form didn't my country - Croatia ! What should I do?
