Legend:
L1® Model II
T1 ToneMatch® audio engine
Orange numbers are Systems and Inputs using those Systems.
Blue filled numbers are Channel connections to/from the T1 ToneMatch™ audio engine.

Quoting Len from The Sketcher
quote:
I want to run two LM1 Model II Power Stands two radio mikes and a cd player
I want Identical sound out of both. I have done it via auxiliary out then analogue in to the second stand, but analogue and digital has a minor lag time. Ideally a splitter cable going from the tone match to both stands that would give me digital identical sound. is it possible.
Also if thats not able is it better to go out of master or auxiliary
thank you

Hi Len,

I should mention that running the same signal to two L1®s is not recommended unless the L1®s are at least 20-50 feet apart.

Please see these notes for more information about that recommendation.

Distributed Systems and Mono
Multiple Source Interference

Delay
You mentioned "analogue and digital has a minor lag time." At most, there might be a difference of 1 millisecond between these analogue and digital outputs. Even if you could hear this difference, taking a single footstep toward one of the other L1® should eliminate the perceived difference. I think that you may be hearing Multiple Source Interference instead of delay.

Splitter
You cannot split the digital signal over two Model II Power Stands. Or rather, this is not supported and Bose has not documented how you might do this. The issue is at least partly that the digital cable also provides power to the T1®.

Even though the connection is RJ45, this is not an ethernet connection so using a network splitter device will not work. Funny you should ask about this, as it came up in the Espanol forum. Splitter rj45.

Master or Aux

If you want the outputs to both Model II Power Stands to be identical, (as nearly so as possible and to be done conveniently) I would connect one Model II Power Stand with the ToneMatch cable and the other Model II Power Stand with the T1® Master Output (analogue). The Aux provides a separate mix and it would be quite possible to that this would not sound the same as the Master Output sent digitally.

But since it is not recommended to have two L1®s with identical outputs unless they are well separated, how far apart will you have the L1®s?

Please tell us more about your music:

  • What kind(s) of music you play?
  • Where you do it (size, type of venue)?
  • Who is there (audience) - how many, what are they doing while you are performing?
  • Do you have a web site?
  • If no web site, could you post a picture of your ensemble?

Thank you.
