Bose experts only please! Does the PAS have three 250 watt per channel amps at 4 ohms? I was told this and I wanted verification. If this is the case, the cylindrical radiator is 4 ohms and two B1's are 4 ohms which would use two of the three amps. What happens to the third amp that is not in use. How come you cannot use 2 B1's on the third amp. That would be 4 ohms on each amp.

<DJ Ron>
The Personalized Amplification System has three 250 watt switching amps that are rated at 4 ohms.
One amp dedicated to each half of the L1 Cylindrical Radiating Loudspeaker(two interlocking components) and one segregated amp that handles up to two B1 Bass Modules (Output 3 on the PS1 Powerstand). If you are not using any B1's with your system then the third amp is idle and will not redistribute power elsewhere.

Cool
Hope this clarifies
Neil

Thanks Neil. That makes a lot of sense. I was wondering what happened to the third amp and I see the Cylindrical column uses two for it. Does Bose sell just the amp portion so you can add more B-1's? I figured out how to get stereo sound if anyone is interested for DJ use.

DJ Ron,

I love your curiosity and innovation. We actually do have a separate bass expansion package available. It is deemed the High Bass Output Accessory Package. Check out this site to see the package (so you have a visual). Just as an FYI, a (PS1) Power stand that also has a (L1) Cylindrical Radiator connected, should only have 2 (B1) Bass Modules connected to it (using the Bass Amp 3 output) any other use is NOT recommended.

The High Bass Output Accessory Package contains a PS1 and 6 B1 Bass Modules for those who really have the need for the low end sweetness!!! This is compatible with our other packages.

However, definitely check out some of the posts on the message board.
Non-Bose Subs

A few people have been inquisitive about this and some of our moderators have some great ideas on possibly using your set-up to its maximum potential. (i.e. powered subs)

If you need the bass...hopefully we can help you get it. We should be able to give you the correct advice.

Looking forward to it...

Josh; The link did not show the Bass Package. I think I will have to now buy two more B-1's and a PS-1 and L-1. to have what I need. That would provided me with 6 B-1's, three PS-1's and two L-1's. It should come pretty close to my former Bose Platinium System. That was in my opinion the best system Bose ever put together but too heavy with the 502's. I will post pics of my first even. It will be a wedding with approximately 250 people who love to party.

How much does the High Bass Output Acessory Package run? Six B1's and the PS1 powerstand?

I can't find it for sale anywhere on the bose site or guitar center.

Thanks

The sales brochure at GS says this package runs $2500 WDJ. I'm not sure why GS is not offering it yet. Maybe there is not quite enough customer base yet to offer an premium extra like this.

Hi Andy.
The package that you mention was discontinued awhile back. There was not too much demand for an 8-B1 system which is what this would give you. Are you looking for more bass with your current system?
