I'm a complete novice with my L1 series II. I think I have a basic grasp on using it in a karaoke situation but now I would like to record on my pc. I do not have power supply for the T1 so if I plug it into the L1 amp for power do I need to erect the speakers as well to get it to function properly and to make sure I don't do any damage?

Hi MezMic,

Thank you for joining the forum.

You can use the Model II Power Stand without any speakers attached. You will not harm the Power Stand.

Do a search for Model II in the search box in my signature for more details.

Thanks ST

Excuse my ignorance but how do I find;

Do a search for Model II in the search box in my signature for more details.?

I just want to be sure I don't do any damage to the T1 or the L1 model II by doing it this way Smile

Once I know that's safe I'm sure I'll have plenty more Q's

Cheers

Hi MezMic,

There is a box in my signature

Search the wiki ________________________ |go|

You can type in a search term like Model II and get more information.

Let me save you the trouble. If you had done the search you would have landed on a page that says...

quote:
If you want to record using USB without using the L1 Cylindrical Radiator® loudspeaker or B1 Bass Module ...

You can certainly run the L1 with all, some, or none of the speakers connected. With no speakers connected it will happily serve as a big power supply for the T1. You are in no way risking damage to the unit by doing this.

Hi ST
I am currently using the L1 model II with the T1 engine for a karaoke show which I've been running for approx 9yrs, replaced the big old bulky stuff (about 4 mths ago) because it was just too much for me on my own (50yo now!)
I love the L1 & the sound is awesome, although I've only just scratched the surface on what it can do, so much more that I've not had to deal with on the old system!
I also have a human jukebox duo (karaoke backing tracks, the punters request the songs, we sing them) and it works really well, just the digital karaoke player (VocoPro) & two - three mics Smile
Now I want to do some recording on the pc so we'll see how it performs there? Can't wait Smile
The mics I'm using are "Rode" mine (love it) a "Shure SM58, good mic & the punters get "CPK RT-926, I've had no problems with feedback at all (except of course when someone pokes the mic at the tower)
Over all wonderful system SmileJust have to learn to use it to it's full capacity Smile

Hi ST
I was successfull in recording from the T1 to pc via usb but was not able to hear my vocals through speakers or headphones (headphones plugged into pc) while recording, (and the quality and volume were poor) can I record to pc via master or aux output directly to mic input on pc so I have an analog signal? Do the jacks need to be stereo or mono? Then do I set the T1 to line 1, for mic input and pref to? If I want to use headphones through the T1 (can that jack be stereo?) while recording I use master output then would I use Aux output to send to pc?
I know so many questions.
Thanks for any advice.
Cheers

Hi MezMic,

Thanks for telling us about your music. Nice to get to know you better.

You can plug your headphones directly into the T1® Master Output. See this recent conversation about exactly that... T1® to Computer via USB

Please try that before going analog through the computer's microphone input. The signal out of the T1® is probably too hot for that input anyway.
