I know this has been asked a lot and honestly, the only answer I see is "why do you want to do that?" I have a 6 piece band and only 2 L1 M1's. "We can't afford more than that. We all agree that this system is much better than our front of house system. We generaly play in an open room for a Sunday evening worship service. We just need to be loud enough to get over the drums. Here's our problem. Because of space limitations, we have a hard time getting line of sight from the towers. Individuals can hear what's coming out of the speaker closest to them, but we still have trouble hearing the other side. I know I can send a signal to both towers if I use a typical mixing board, but we would like to continue to use our 2 T1's. I would reall ylike to know if it is even possible to run one mix to both speakers with this configuration.
If so, How? |

Hi RCDrafting,
It's been just over a year since our last conversation. Unless things have changed, you were using every single input (all four channels) on both of your Model I Power Stands. You were also using all of the inputs on both T1®s. If that is still the case I think you will have to use an external mixer. If you had a free input channel on each Power Stand you could take a line from the T1® Aux outputs and send those across the stage to the L1® on the other side. If you had a free input channel on each T1® you could take a line from the T1® Aux outputs and send those across the stage to the T1® on the other side. If you DO have a free input on either the T1®s or the Model I Power Stands then you can use the Aux outputs from the T1®s. You can read about using Aux in more detail here: T1® Aux This message has been edited. Last edited by: ST, |

Hey! Thanks so much for the reply! I will try that again. I thought I did before with no success, but perhaps I missed something. We've been trimming down our inputs a bit. We now use acoustic drums with no mics and the Bass just uses his amp. The guitarists just use one input each utilizing our foot switches. So basically, we only need a total of 5 mics, 2 guitars and 1 keyboard.
I'll let you know how it goes. |

I was just thinking all this through and I wanted to see if this was a realistic option. assuming I have only one free input on my second T1, could I run the main out of the first T1 to the free input of the second T1? The idea being to send the main out to one of the power stands and the aux out to the other power stand. It works in my head. This way I'm not cris crossing back and fourth.
There's no way to do this from the power stands is there? The reason is we are placing the T1's on a music stand at the front of the stage so we don't have to keep walking back to the speakers to make adjustments. For all those reading this, I do understand the theory behind giving control over to each performer and allowing the performance to sound as if it wasn't amplified at all. I get that. However, sometimes the ideal stage layout is impossible and you have to make adjustments. I just wish there was a little more flexibility with this system. |

The other way to get the analog output (e.g. Master) to two L1's is to use a "Y" cable -- this is actually a proper and acceptable use for a "Y" cable ... to take one output and direct it to two inputs.
That (the "Y") may be simpler to control than setting up the AUX channel. Then you KNOW the same signal is going to both L1's ... IF that is what you desire. |

Will there be any level or quality degrade by using the Y cable?

Hi Khucdu,
Yes, there will be degradation in the signal level. There may also be a degradation in the quality but it may not be audible. There are alternatives to using the Y-cable discussed above, so I see no reason to pursue that option. Using the Aux output from the T1®s allows you a lot of control over what is being sent to each L1®. Using the Y-cable does not. |
