Karaoke recording

I have L1 system with tone-match. I just bought iMac. I want to record karaoke which streams from web page with my voice added to it. iMac has Garageband. How should I connect and how do I record it with the best quality? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks you.

Hi milin 1609,

Your intentions are not clear to me. Is it possible to record the streaming music directly to the computer hard drive by way of Garageband?

If so, could you then go back and add a vocal?

I'm not sure how the L1 / T1 system figures into the equation.

O..

Hi milin1609,

I would have replied sooner, but I don't know what to tell you. We're all volunteers (except the people who have -at-Bose) in their names, and it may be that no one who has seen your message knows the answer either.

I'm not sure if you CAN do this...
stream audio from the web (PLAY audio)
⇒ AND
direct that to the T1® and sing along with it
⇒ AND
bring the sound back into the computer
⇒ AND
RECORD it.

Is that what you are trying to do? PLAY and RECORD at the same time?

From your earlier posts, noticed that you were running a PC to your T1. I'm reasonably sure that you could run an analog audio connection (headphone jack) from the PC to T1® Channel 4/5 and take the T1® USB output to the Mac and then record in the Mac.

I know that's not what you asked, but I don't know how you would do it all with just one computer and the T1 and L1®.

If you want an answer from someone-at-Bose please post your question in the Ask Bose For Help forum.

PS - I just looked up and realized that Oldghm and I were typing at the same time.

If you don't need to do this live (actually record your vocals while the track is streaming), I would suggest either downloading the track (if possible) or recording the track using an app like Audio Hijack Pro or Piezo. Here are a couple of links:

http://rogueamoeba.com/piezo/

You can then import the recorded/downloaded track into Garageband and record your vocals to another track.
