Hi I will be doing a wedding in stereo with a computer as a possible source. I'll be going from 1/8 st to dual 1/4 mono through the aux and master. I will also use booth preamp out combined 1/4 to a mono feed to another tower for coverage.
Is there any possible ground or computer noise that I should be worried about? I don't hear any at the trial at my home. I'd rather use the USB but to get the mono feed I would need to split the outputs with adapters and combine them again. I'm not sure if I want to do that. |

This is very confusing to me ... I'm not at all sure what is connected where or how to address your possible concern of ... If you don't hear any at your trial setup, you should be o.k. Moreover, if there IS a hum at the venue, there are a limited number of things to look for, such as: -- lighting equipment (with dimmers, particularly) on the same power circuit. -- high-capacity dimmers (e.g. motor-controlled) in the room (if the hum goes away with the lights completely off or 'full-on', then it's likely to be dimmer-induced noise -- and not often a quick solution, either). -- additional "wall-wart" power adapters near any of your cables (move them at least 6" away!). |
