I Just noticed that on the rear of the top half of my Model II tower there are two black Philips head screws mounted vertically and what looks like a "third" hole with no screw in it. I think there should be 3 screws. ( I know I know, maybe I lost my screws a long time ago! LOL )
If you are talking about the three holes on the bayonet, then that's there so you can adjust the length that protrudes. Yes, there are three holes in the bayonet, but only two holes in the upper part of the Cylindrical Radiator®. So if you have two screws, you haven't lost a screw someplace. All is right with the universe.
If you frequently play in places with short ceilings you may find it helps to shorten up the bayonet by using the other two holes.
I haven't found a difference in the stability of the Cylindrical Radiator® either way.

What you mean is that by "shortening the bayonet" your have more room to swing and line up the upperhalf....not make the tower lower......correct? (I know know,. Your saying...."duh"? )LOL!
