I thought you guys might like this story of what happened at one of my DJ gigs several years ago. I am a mobile DJ and musician in the Bullhead City, AZ-Laughlin, NV area and was contracted to DJ a family reunion in one of the casino banquet rooms. I have a 2 L-1's and now own a new Compact. The mother asked if her son who plays guitar could plug into my system during the event. I said no problem and expected someone singing "Country Roads" or something like that. I met her son who had a half sized acoustic and some pedals which I hooked into my mixing board (pre T-1). I had to duct tape my wireless mic to a borrowed stand which I didn't bring not knowing he was going to sing. The son started playing and singing and I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I tweaked the sound a little but what was coming out of the L-1's was nothing short of fantastic. I asked who was this guy and some relatives said Phil Keaggy who is one of the greatest guitarists in the world. Phil played a full hour set to the crowds enjoyment and mine. Phil said the Bose sounded great and I finally got my act together and finished the party. How could I top that? Randy

Randy,
Phil is one of the finest guitarists in the world. You were present at a very special moment, I'm sure. Phili Keaggy Wikipedia entry Tom |
