Hi Folks,

It is our great pleasure to announce that tomorrow, we will introduce the newest member of the L1 family at Frankfurt MusikMesse (the largest music show in the world).

To learn the details, go tomorrow to Bose.com.

In the meantime, we are sending videos and photos of our preparations to a special page at the L1 Wiki.

There, you can meet some of the people involved in the introduction here in Germany, and get a few hints about the new product.

As things unfold, we look forward to hearing your reactions and answering your questions.

With best regards,

Ken-at-Bose
Craig-at-Bose

Here is a photo of the presentation we will give tomorrow and for the next few days.

It has a montage of real and virtual musicians.

Very cool...

K.

Blurry, Bigfoot-sighting-type video here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...ture=player_embedded

At a wild guess...an integrated powerstand/bass module?

Or... that pole looks more rounded than either the Model I or the Model II. Perhaps 360-degree dispersion?

This better not be an April Fool's joke! Smile

I want to see a wide angle shot of the truck. Does it open up like a stage?

It looks like the full range speaker column might be a bit shorter than what we have seen in the past.

Power and bass module together makes sense to me. No more need for a fan, and one less handfull to carry in and out.

Will it power two additional B1s?

Can't wait for the details.

O..

This is something that I (and I'm sure many others) offered up as a suggestion years ago (Classic days, before even the Packlite). Having an integrated package makes a lot of sense.

At the time, however, we'd not seen the Model II. What it provides is fantastic portability...no single piece of the entire system weighs more than 30 pounds.

If this is in fact an integrated powerstand/bass module setup, then it might wind up being relatively heavy. I'm not sure I'd trade that for what the Model II has given us.

Another possibility is that this is an entry-level model with limited expandability/connectivity.

We'll see soon enough!

I'll bet the power stand could end up weighing very little more than a B1 - maybe even less. I'm more curious to see the interface.

Tom, don't forget what the Bose team told us about why the Classic/Model I weighs as much as it does... had to do with tip-over requirements from (IIRC) OSHA and nothing else.

I think you could be right IF it has feet like the Model II.

Or they could have made the tower out of lighter material - maybe...

I think we all know Ken and his team well enough to know that they never go backward. Whatever they're cooking up can only be lighter, smaller, easier and better sounding. Maybe this time they even figured out a way to throw cheaper into the equation as well.

I just know that I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve, and I can't wait for tomorrow to come.

Rain -

I was thinking EXACTLY the same thing....April Fool's Day....hummmmm????

Could it be a non-feedback version of the L1? You know, enough electronics to provide crazy volumes without any kind of feedback ever and that same great dispersion and sound!

I'm watching..... Smile
