The attached photo is from a concert event that 2nd Planet hosted on Saturday May 22, 2010 at the Fairfield Center for Creative Arts.(FCCA)

We have been L1 users for the 5 years, and at this particular concert, I was never more proud and happy to be an L1 user.

This wonderful evening of music featured 2nd Planet and we were followed by the great Latin jazz artist, Ray Obiedo and Mambo Caribe who were the headliners and they performed through a traditional stage and sound setup.

The venue's sound system was made by Meyer Sound Laboratories with JBL monitors and a multi channel mixing console. We also had an expert sound crew as well. Ray Obiedo, requested that his stage setup not be disturbed in regard to the sound mix and position of their instruments, mics and amps for his 8 piece band.

The sound man did mark the position some of Ray’s stage setup, which were moved out of the way to allow us (2nd Planet) to position our instruments and four L1’s.

At this point my band had approximately 45 minutes before the show was to start. Our drummer's kit was miked through a Yamaha mixer which was ran to a Bose L1 Model 1 with 4 bass modules. Our bass player played thru another L1 system Model 1 with 4 B1 bass modules as well. Our keyboard player ran 3 keyboards thru a T1 ToneMatch Engine and L1 model 2 with 1 bass module and myself on guitar played thru a L1 Model 1 with 1 bass module as well.

We had a guest vocalist as well and he used a Shure SM58 mic which was ran thru the house system.

Our sound check was quick and smooth with the Bose L1’s and the soundman ran all of our (four) L1’s into 4 direct boxes, which was all mixed into the sound system including the keyboard player’s T1 ToneMatch Engine.

Our setup of course, did not disturb Ray’s 8 piece band set up at all.

Our (2nd Planet) 4 piece band’s setup and sound check time was approximately 30 minutes and we had time to spare before the show started. This would have not been possible had it not been for the L1’s. This particular venue had floor and balcony seating with a capacity of 400 people and this was an event where Bose L1’s ran thru the house system was a good thing, but was not detrimental for us, because we still could have performed very well, without the house system or a sound crew. Nonetheless, the sound crew still did a great job. Even though, myself and the bass player did have some sound mix on the JBL stage monitors, we could have easily did without it, because we still had excellent sound coverage on the stage from our L1’s.

The concert event was a wonderful experience of how great and versatile the L1’s are for any and all music performing scenarios regardless of how big or how small the venue is.

At the end of the show, Ray and his band members complimented us on the L1’s and Ray himself jokingly ask if he could borrow one. (laughs)

This concert epitomizes 2nd Planet's 5 year experience of being L1 users. We love it! And I personally, do not see myself playing thru anything else! (laughs)

Oh yeah! The concert and music was great!
Most importantly, the audience loved it!

Note: On the far left, is the 4th L1 which is hard to see, because of the dark backdrop.

Hi Lee,

What a great gig!!!

And I LOVE the look of our soldiers of sound standing at attention against that clean backdrop.

I only wish I could have been there.
