God forbid that Bose ever does improve the PAS. We'll have an outright mutiny.
If Bose does supply previous owners with the deluxe bags it will be very generous on their part.
I believe that Bose learns from their mistakes and comes through for the customer - eventually. I'll bet you guys get your bags or a substantial discount.
This reminds me somewhat of another situation involving Bose. Back in the late 70's I purchased a pair of 901 IV speakers. After 7 years the foam surrounds on the drivers began to rot. I called Bose and their response was, "Yes, that has been happening. Replacement drivers are $45 each and they are on back order." Since there are 18 drivers in a pair of 901's I wrote the speakers and Bose off.
A few years later I found that Bose had begun an exchange program. I sent in my old speakers and a check for $400 and they sent me a new pair of 901 VI speakers. Since then I have purchased 4 802's and 2 502BP's. I only did this after Bose made good.
I don't see anything wrong with Bose offering incentives and specials to increase sales of their products and they shouldn't have to make them retroactive to existing customers. Their big mistake was slapping it in the face of their loyal customers who contribute to this forum (especially with that glossy photo).
Really though, these bags don't seem to offer much protection and they may be an invitation to a thief that sees them sitting in your car, what with the big BOSE logo tatooed all over them. I would be looking for some sort of hardshell case to protect my investment.
Bose, do the right thing. You don't need to give all previous customers the bags. Just give them to the board members that request them.

Oldghm, for you, I'll make up some custom adoption papers. Wink

Robert L, thanks for your thoughtful post. I went to bed thinking similar thoughts and reading your post this morning I realized you said it better than I ever could. Thanks again.

The reason I posted the picture here is because we did not want to catch our community off guard. We think the folks that are a part of this community deserve to know what we're up to as soon as we can possibly share it with everyone. I know that's how I'd want to be treated.

Reply to Tom Munch:

Tom, I'm just using a keyboard bag - it holds the L1's, 3 fold-up mic stands with booms, a bunch of cables and surge protectors, a case with 3 mics & the Bose remote, and my Roland GR-33 synth. It's too heavy, but it has built in wheels, so I never really lift it, completely.

It is a Gator GK-88 case, lightweight but more protection than just a bag. I use the same series for my jumbo guitar. The keyboard case has these wide padded straps that strap-in the L1's and mic stands very securely, and the wires just fit in on top. Outside is a compartment that holds the synth perfectly.

I haven't rolled it to a gig yet, but I have four coming up in the next two weeks, so we'll see...

Thanks, Mike

Steve -

How would multiple B1's be handled - does the set include 2 B1 bags, or ???

Also would it would be nice to have a "quantity" discount for the 2nd set - as an owner of two systems, its a stretch to pay for two sets, even with an "existing customer" discount.

Thanks

I called the number that Steve posted for folks still in the trial period & got the new bags on the way. I got my double-bass system at the end of June. I think the B1 bags were still on backorder.

Thanks, Steve!!!

I need to post my experience so far with this system. I've used it almost every day since I got it for outdoor venues, small indoor venues, solo, duo, & with a five-piece band. It has been remarkable in every situation.

I would be interested in the new bags at a discount. I have a 2 b1 system. Is the extra b1 bag included?
Thanks,
rwj

Thanks, Mike. Alternatives are good for everyone. Your method looks like it works pretty well. I'm still trying to find a hard case solution for the L1's.

Call me a fool for a pretty face - if the existing customers are offered a deal, I'd be on board. (My wife REALLY wants the wheels on the bag for the PS... Smile)

Well..........now that I've had to lug the PS1 without wheels, I'm tempted to return and repurchase the whole PAS just to get the new bags. The price to purchase them is sooo high!!!
What to do?

Hi!
I'm a new PAS 2B1 owner and so far I'm impressed. I've only given it a "living room workout" but everything set up nicely and the sound was super. In some ways it felt like I had a new keyboard. I have a Kurzweil PC2x and I experimented with sounds all over again.

Anyway, I bought the system at the GC in Albany, New York. The sales people were very nice and accomodating. I had them plugging different things into the system, experimenting with different electronics and eventually carrying it out to my car.

My question: Do people that buy systems at Guitar Centers get the bag deal too? If so what do I do to get it? They didn't know anything about it.

Thanks,
Matt

Reply to TOM MUNCH -

Hey Tom - again, look at Gator - they have keyboard cases, both hard and semi-hard, that may be perfect for you. The 76-key models are long enough for the 45-inch L1's, and both have built-in wheels. www.GatorCases.com

Good luck - Mike

Just called the 800 number and they hooked me up, no problem. I'm at the tail end of my trial period.

Thanks for making this possible, guys.

Steve-
I agree with these recent posts--I love my system, your tech support and public relations; however, I feel shortchanged by this promotional deal. I think you did right by grandfathering the original bags. Is there some arrangement you could make for we 'veterans' who have been promoting your products by entertaining questions and speaking highly about them at gigs? I think offering the bags at half-price to those of us who have already invested in the system would be fair. Please, don't PAS us by!

Are the bags available on purchases only on the Bose site or at Guitar Center too? If at GC, too - the people at GC were unaware of this offer!!

blu,

GC's web site shows the offer http://www.guitarcenter.com/rebate/ and their head quarters has known about it for some time (they gift a "GC" version of the bag) so I'm not sure what happened here.

What store are you working with?

Just checked my records today and realized that my pruchase date was 4/22/04, which would have made me 17 days out of the window for the deluxe bags. Considering I didn't get my B-1 bag 'til mid July, shouldn't that offset the "free-be" deadline a little? [hey, it's worth a little whining and sniveling if it works]

Happy UPS delivery today...yep, the deluxe bags. Very sharp. I like 'em. Only one problem: the shipment came in two boxes. One box was for the P1, speakers bags and backpack. The other large box was for the B1. The problem? You sent me a whole box full of B1 cases (12 total). I am a solo acoustic player and only have one B1. Would you like me to ship these back? I could also take them back to Guitar Center and have them ship them back.

Thanks for the great system and nice bags.
