I just received the Deluxe Bags. They certainly seem to be an improvement over the serviceable bags that come w/ the PAS. I do have one question:

I'm confused by the styrofoam padding in the rolling bag for the power stand. The styrofoam is brittle/broken -- is it supposed to be permanent? If so, it's not very sturdy, and it only covers a portion of surface area of the unit - is the "unstyrofoamed" open area to be used for additional storage? If the styrofoam is removed, the power stand will basically be resting on top of the metal bars, which seems dangerous...

I also had questions about all the clips & buckles, but those are pretty well covered in the previous discussion on this topic.

If anybody else has suggestions or tricks as to effective usage of these bags, I'd love to hear 'em...

Hi Bose Guys,
I hate drag out the Deluxe bag issue any longer, but I have a problem! I purchased my PAS 31/08/2004 from L&M in Oshawa and thought I would be eligible for the Deluxe Bag Promo. Appearently I am not. According to the guys I talked to at 2673 Why???
At no time did you ever say/write that L&M customers would not be able to take advantage of your promo. At least not that I could see on this thred.
Can you help me out?
P.S. I was unable to register my PAS online - for some reason it is limited to residents of the U.S./Porto Rico/US Virgin Islands. I had to call 2673.
I love my PAS - great job Bose!!!

I think I answered this somewhere else but just in case ...

The styrofoam is just there to help with loading in the PS1 (holds the end up over the plastic wheel fenders). You can remove it if you like, it is only helpful when you are loading up.

Hi Steve,
I am still waiting for a reply from you regarding my being elegible for the deluxe bags with a Canadian purchase (L&M). I've sent you a private post as well, and still no answer?

Martingal, you're right, I'm sorry. I lost track of your request.

In Canada, our reseller there, L&M did not participate in the Deluxe Bag offer. Therefore, folks who purchased from L&M do not qualify. In the copy that described the offer (the official/legal copy on the Bose web site and on the GC/MF web sites) there was language about this offer being valid only in the US.

I'm really sorry to have to be the one to break this to you, but unfortunately, we're not able to offer you the free deluxe bags.

I hope the system is working well for you though.

Well these aren't the new bags, but I had to share the pic of our cat Jasmine, who has a perfect "cat-tower" bed, chose to have a power-nap against the P1 base Cool after I returned from a recent gig. She has since made this an alternate nap location. I think it must be because the letter coloring matches hers.... Big Grin

Wow. I'm a bit annoyed. I just purchased my second PAS system and was told at Guitar Center that the offer was still in place. Sigh. How much are the bags going to cost?

Brian, that is very unfortunate. We'll ask GC to remind their staff that the promo is over. I'd like to get more specifics, please check your private messages.

Steve,

Bought my 2 systems w/ 3 bass units in February and would love to get these deluxe bags as I really dig the handle for the floor unit. I understand you're not making the bags anymore, please tell me that you'll be offering them again soon....preferably before february as that's when my wedding season starts up again & i'd love to gig with the new bags.....so far i've used the system on over 30 wedding gigs usually between 150 & 300 people, and the reponse has been tremendous by both musicians & audience members and the stage set up just looks awesome....thanks for making a great product, now make it better and offer those deluxe bags to us folks that have been loyal to the system.....thanks so much...dave

I got my bags today...very nice. Not a darn thing to complain about. Well maybe the color- the beige will be cooked by the end of the weekend. That's alright though- that's what they're for- to protect. My equipment load continues to get smaller and smaller. Findings...

1. I can't find a reason to use the new bags for the speakers. They are beautiful and I'll wait until the other bags wear out. I love the zipper pockets down the side.

2. The original speaker bag fit's inside the PS1 zippered pockets quite nicely. I'm aware of the possible tip factor, but I'll never stand the unit up- it's as simple as that.

3. The backpack is quite stylin! The smaller zippered pocket is cool as heck with the little compartments. I have no more use for the 30 gallon tupperware stuff I used to pack everything in.

Thanks for the free stuff. Get me some shirts and I'll where them at shows!

Darrell

Dave p,

You can purchase the Deluxe bags here.

You'll need to scroll down the page a bit. The Deluxe Bag is offered via Bose.com as an accessory.

Ronjazz,

I deleted your post ... sorry man, had to do it. I know it was meant in good humor, but we've gotta keep it respectful.

Tom,

Last time I looked (yesterday), we're expecting a shipment on or about October 15. No guarantees, but there appear to be enough coming in to more than cover the backlog. Hang in there and thanks for your patience!

To all,

Recieved my Deluxe Bags today. They look good and with reasonable care should give good service.

I personally think the zippers are one size/gauge too small, and are likely to be the first thing to fail. I have fanny packs with stronger zippers.(Granite Gear)

The PS1 roller case is the most vulnerable, with zippers on an edge where the side is simi-supported, any bumps or bangs are likely to cause damage. Be careful when loading, unloading, stacking, moving through doors etc., trying not to pinch or bang that edge.

I came home from a recent trip with a similarly designed piece of Samsonite luggage damaged beyoud repair because of the same design weakness.

Moving the zipper down about an inch and covering it with a flap would be a bit more costly but would add good protection and probably years to its life.

All in all they are very nice and a great bonus to those of us who purchased in August, and all who took advantage of the special pricing for earlier buyers.

Same thing happend to me, I didnt recieve any bags, for one system, and one of the PS bags had a seam undone. We were reay to buy the three systems in August, but we ahd to wait for our budget to pass by the school, and then wait on a check. So there are some of the strikes that We have with the system. Customer service has been good as far as I can see, just not directly this way.

Frankieve,

You just registered, so I'm guessing you bought August of 2005???? The deal was for last year, sorry you are a little too late for the free ones, but they are available for sale.

If I buy a 2xB1 system, do I get 2 B1 bags?

Hello dansgold,

Yes, you'll receive a carry bag for each component. The B1's are packaged with a slip cover which protects all but the bottom of the B1. Please let us know if you're B1's are not packaged with a cover.

Whoops ... I see now the free deluxe bag offer was a year ago.

DAMN!

... and this will sound stupid-as-hell, but that was what was tipping me over in justifying the $ for a 2xB1 system. (customers can be so dorky that way)

Whatever ... still on the road to a test drive and possible purchase.
