Research & Development |
It gives me great pleasure to announce that one of the founding members of the group that developed and launched the L1 approach at Bose has started a new company and is introducing an innovative new product to the music industry.
The individual was a key contributor in this community and his posts go under the display name Steve-at-Bose. Many of the veterans here know him well. (The picture is from when Steve first joined the L1 team and we were testing in a variety of venues -- in this case a large function room at a local country club. You can read about the pre-launch history of the L1 project at the L1 Wiki. Steve and his company Breezsong have introduced a new line of products called JamHub and the motto is "The Silent Rehearsal Studio." We encourage you to check out their website and take a look and listen to their products. We congratulate Steve and his team. We are super proud of you. With best regards, Ken ![]() |

What an incredble, neat, innovative, idea.
Love the look, the layout of controls, ins and outs. The features of the TourBus should give Bose some hints for the next PS. I see some similarity in the look of the product, Don't know if Steve brought that to Bose when he came, or took it with him when he left, either way looks like a winner. I just need to start a band, I guess. Wishing all the best for Steve. O.. edit spelling This message has been edited. Last edited by: Oldghm, |

Good for you Steve!
What a great idea! Another perfect tool who's time is long overdue. I'll be looking forward to checking it out in a Canadian store near me. Rick |

On my first trip to Bose, way back when, Steve was my host at one of the Friday afternoon jams at the Res. bldg. It was there that I met several of the super nice Bose folks and was treated with the utmost kindness and respect.
It was so good to see him again at the L.S. conference and doing so well, i might add. Steve, we all wish you the very best in this new venture. God bless, Rick |

Thanks everyone. I think I need a "Steve-not-at-Bose" name now.
I must say that the JamHub concept is a perfect complementary product to the L1 system. When you hear the mix clearly you can improve as a musician and a band. JamHubs and L1s do that for musicians. Our biggest hope is that we'll allow the many, many musicians who can't be in a band today because of where the live, and get them playing with others. The idea was inspired by a person who lives in a duplex, but the concept works for anyone who wants to be in a band (sorry O). Play Anywhere, Anytime is our tag-line and if all goes to plan we'll make more bands who know how to play as a band and they will decide to use L1s for their live gigs because they want can control their own mix. Gotta fly guys, Steve PS My time with Bose was amazing. The people at that company are terrific and I could fill a page with examples. Trust me. I have nothing to gain by telling you this. People like Ken are the folks you want making YOUR music gear. |

DEAN!!! How are you?!? Thanks a ton!
FWIW, had a killer gig last weekend with my L1's. We played in a garage (two car) and fired the music right out of the garage into the front yard to many positive replies. The coolest part was this house is about 30 yards/meters from a lake and the sound must have been carrying a LOOOONNNNGGG way across the lake because we had all these boats pulling up in front of the place and parking it, having a listen, and enjoying the summer day. L1's TOTALLY rock! Now that I don't work at Bose I can tell you without any perceived bias ... L1's are the best way for a rock band to play. If you love guitar tone, mic your amp and use an L1 to project your tone. Now your amps "sweet spot" is where ever you stand ... oh, and it's filled the room with that killer tone. My guitar was loud, lively and in the mix. With wedges and a conventional PA that happens one every 10 gigs. With L1's its SIMPLE to get and deliver killer tone. Ahhh, glad to have that off my chest. Back to JamHub business. I'm a busy kid these days. Steve |
