In addition to the concert tonight, the band -- Mary, Jill, and Brenda -- have been here all day working with Cliff, Joe, and Chris making custom ToneMatch presets for their array of Celtic instruments.
This is the first time we've been able to make a six-year-old dream come true: create custom ToneMatch presets, burn them into an L1 and have a performance, all in the same day.
Later, I'll have some pictures from the day and from the evening's performance.
So far, we've done the hammered dulcimer, the bouzuki (sp?) and worked on the miked instruments.
Mary wasn't afraid to dig in on fine tuning the graphic equalizers (two, in series). This was neat, as she knows the sound of the instrument really well.
Cliff helped Jill with excessive sibilance in her voice using the ParaEQ on the T1 and then tuned the miked sound of her flute, her penny whistle, and her accordion.
Guess I'm too early. Can't wait for show pics and comments.
I love the way you guys go all out to help us deliver the sound we want to deliver. What a great experience for this band with the wide variety of (somewhat unusual) instruments.
Well, at the last minute we had a computer glitch...
AND A GREAT SHOW.
We had trouble downloading the 2 new presets to the T1s and Cliff ended up dialing in their EQ by ear (again) up at the auditorium. We're breaking in a new DSP person (Chris in the photos above) and the software for converting raw transfer functions to T1 food is not easy. It worked the day before yesterday!
More important, Banshee in the Kitchen played to a packed auditorium and blew everybody away. The Bose crowd LOVED them. They sold a whole bunch of CDs afterward (always a sign of a great show) and I think people were genuinely thrilled with the music.
