Wow ...just got this strong vibe today where I found myself thinking about all of you & the wonderful Bash we had here in Big Sur ...

So I came to visit & saw Tom's recent post ...
Are we slightly connected or what ..:-)

Much has changed since then ... but that wonderful feeling of us coming together as we do still lingers in the Universal Spirit of Comradery ...

Joseph & Tom,
Just feeling the vibe too! Coincidence? Ashville is a beautiful place. I wish I could make that one but have to hold down the fort here in Phoenix!

Hello TJ!

How are you?

I've been itching to send you a message and then I see you already "heard" me.

Do you know about the South Atlantic States Confrerence just announced???

I know it's a long shot but maybe you can come?

Here's a link to get you started.

Big hugs and kisses to all our friends in Big Sur!

Ken

Just checking in to see if anyone's heard from the gang up in Bug Sur. From seeing the news the forest fire up there looks close to the Big Sur Lodge and Pfeiffer State Park.

Yes ... Big Sur is in danger my friends...
It's a very scary and sad stituation ...
They have evacuated the village of Big Sur ...

Barklie has refused to leave ... I talked to him early evening...
He says he's not going to move until he sees the flames approaching ....

Highway 1 is closed down for 30 miles ...
The've called in the National guard ...
The terrain is so rough -the firefighters are making no progress ...
The flames are spreading in every which way...

I don't know what to say my dear friends...
But thought I should get in touch ...

- Joseph ...

Great to hear, Joseph. Does that mean that some of the things on the opposite side of the highway were lost like the Lodge?

The lodge is safe Tom ....
but many famous Big Sur hiking trails have been lost ...

Two families I know personally, lost their homes ... which is very, very sad.

But the firefighters saved all the well known Big Sur landmarks ...

The story about the Tassajara monks saving the Monastery on their own is an incredible tale of
bravery, brains and faith ....

(though many thought them crazy at first ...)

Thanks, Joseph, for the mention of the Tassajara monks; it was an interesting read.

Joseph,

Thanks for the reflection. In every tragedy there always seems to be some good as well.

Tom, that is absolutely true. Oh, that everyone could feel this way. How much better we all would be, for ourselves and each other.

Well, It was three years ago this morning that we were sitting in the Barn & listening to great music in our stocking feet & soaking in that wonderful vibe with the ocean at our backs & the L1's keeping it real. I can close my eyes & be right back there although it seems a million years ago now. Of course my memory is a little painful since the bass we heard that morning is gone now - we miss you, Dan.

I wish I could bask in this feeling all morning. Thank you to cosmos for letting it all happen.

Tom
