For the attendees at the Big Sur Bose Bash, be sure to grab a chair and head out for the Sunset on Monday Night.

Sunset should be around 7:45 pm.

This is a great time to hang out together and get in the mood for the Big Sur Natives.

They will be going on at 8:30 in the Hidden Barn.

We realized that you would probably want to enjoy each others' company and the spectacular view of the sunset.

Please read carefully:

On Monday - our last scheduled daytime event wraps up at 6:00.

The Big Sur Natives start at 8:30 sharp.
We thought it would be a nice transition to aim for Sunset as a reason to get back to the Hidden Barn early, after dinner.

This gives you until 8:30 to have something to eat, pick up or drop of travelling companions at the Big Sur Lodge and get back to the Hidden Barn. Approximately 7:45-7:50 for sunset, 8:30 for the Big Sur Natives.

Travel, Food, Timing

Big Sur Lodge to the Hidden Barn
15-20 minutes. It's not far, but you don't drive fast. Slower if there are a lot of us going there at the same time.

The first session each day is at 10:00 the Hidden Barn. These will be break-out sessions (smaller groups discussing focussed topics).

Coffee, Lunch, Snacks at the Hidden Barn are all being provided by Bose for both Monday and Tuesday. THANK YOU Bose!
Please send me a private message if you have any dietary concerns or special needs.

We understand that at the Dinner break you may want to go back to the Big Sur Lodge (food, travelling companions, change of scenery).

Dinner at the Hidden Barn

Bose is taking care of food during the day, and we get to organize our dinner.

For those of us who prefer to stay at the Hidden Barn during the dinner break I'd like to organize having food sent up to us, rather than travelling up and down the hill. This really depends on whether or not there are enough of us who want to do that.

I figure that we can have the Big Sur Lodge prepare something (or maybe just get Pizza).

Please post here if you are interested in collaborating on a food run. I figure we have to have at least 10 of us to make that work ($15-20 per person would probably do it).

I'd probably be game for dinner at the Barn at least one night - especially if we were having a good writing collaboration or discussion & didn't want to break away.

When is Sunset?

According to weather.com

Sunset on Monday should be 7:49 PM.

Okay - maybe the question is not WHEN, but WHAT. Thanks to Alan for casting that shadow of doubt over my reckless certainty.

I could not find a definition from weather.com. Do you suppose they mean when the sun touches the horizon, when it reaches the median point, when the upper limb (whatever that is) disappears, or when the the light of the sun is completely extinguished.

No matter what, we're pretty sure it means that all the nice colours will have passed by 8:30 when the Big Sur Natives start.
