PLEASE CHECK THE WIKI

DATE

Saturday, July 14th, 2007

11 am to 11 pm

VENUE

Maplewood, MO The Schlafly Bottleworks

SCHEDULE, LODGING, ETC

Details forthcoming. There is a nice cluster of hotels approximately 3 miles northwest of the venue (check with your favorite online geographic locator). Of course others are throughout the St. Louis area, within a 10 mile radius. We may be able to do something very impromptu at one where one of us is staying. Otherwise...

All day Saturday the 14th at The Bottleworks, where we'll also be eating. The program will include performances by L1 bands and individuals, some jam time, and a presentation on the new L1 Model II and T1.

More program details are being added.

Please check the WIKI for updates.

Thank you, all, for your interest in the 2007 Midwest L1 Enthusiasts gathering!

BBE

It looks like a great place. I checked the menu and it looks like I could hurt myself eating there.
We are really looking forward to a little trip, and you can still count on 2 of us.

thanks again for setting this up.
Respect,

Good news! Thanks Nathan for all your organizing, and a big thanks to Bob in St Louis for his work on securing this locale for us.

BTW, the room Bob has secured is The Crown Room.

Bob...thanks again, this is a load off my mind and Nathan's too I'm sure. We really appreciate what you've done.

Very tentative at this point. Looks like I've got a trip coming up in August that would prevent me from taking this one.

Andrew:

Thanks for dropping by.

I've added you with the tentative notation. If you are sure you cannot come, then let me know here. Otherwise, perhaps we'll see you in 6 weeks. Let me know when you know for yourself.

Looks like 3 of The Houndz tentatively will attend - Sax, Guitar and Drums. I'm still twisting some arms. Any trumpet and bone players coming? If so, I'll bring our arrangement books. I'm sure someone can jump in on bass & keys.

Trumpet and trombone, I don't know. Doesn't look like it right now.

I'm bringing my piano, but I don't play, and I'm not yet sure if I'll have a player. The at-Bose list is growing. Maybe Cliff will make the trip. That'd be cool. Doesn't solve the trumpet or trombone requirement, but it would help me!

Bass-wise, my bassist says he can come, but it will be a short day for him (he has a gig back here at 8, so he'd need to leave St. Louis by 5 at the very latest). I'm going to sing with him and a new pianist tonight. I'll talk to her. I need to, anyway, for the upStandards.

Thanks, Hound.

I hope you can make it Saxhound. I will be bringing the TrapKat & TD-12 , but no real drums.
I do have a right-handed drummer layout programmed for it though,
and your drummer is welcome to it if he is comfortable with that.

I'm booked: same flight out and hotel as Ken. But I'm not expecting to make it to STL for a Sunday morning flight at 6:50. Eek Instead, I'm taking a flight home at the "crack of noon".

What a blast--I'm actually going!

We should arrive sometime Friday afternoon (6-7hr drive), and we'll probably be looking for some music that evening. Anyone know of any good blues shows in the "Birthplace of the Blues"?

I'm with John, this is pretty cool. It's shaping up to be sure.

Andy, it ain't da blues, but I am working on a booking at the hotel we're staying in - The Seven Gables Inn. Straight ahead jazz and standards, if I can get it done. I have a call in to the general manager, and am waiting to hear back. They have jazz Thur-Sat, and the July calendar isn't out yet. I'll keep ya posted.

Otherwise, John and Bob, and probably BigKyle could fill you in on the blues request. What about Chuck Berry's place?

There's a KILLER version of "St. Louis Blues" (Saint Louie Blues) by Etta James, with band and full choir. It's a CLINIC in arrangement and execution -- powerfully emotional stuff.

I'll bring it.

Thanks, Pete. We were hoping to take one car, but the drums make that problematic. Our drummer has been talking about buying an electronic kit - maybe this will nudge him over the edge.

Ken & Chris! Thanks so much for joining us! Let us know if there is anything we can do for you on our end.

ColAndy, check out Jazz at the Bistro.

Saxhound, if the guys in my band take a separate vehicle down, I will pack my Pearl Kit as well.

The RFT ususally covers the spectrum of entertainment and "what's happenin'" in St. Louis... Here's a link to try, if you're interested in what's happening around town.
